Been to Casa's lots of times over the years but not since the new menu has been available. We live a ten minute walk away so for us it's great. I wouldn't travel out of my way to get there but it's exactly what you expect from a friendly affordable italian restaurant. We took my son (five years old) for tea tonight (saturday) at about 6pm. Lots of other families with the same idea so at this time it was full of families.
I got the £11.95 3 course menu. Rice balls to start with (they were fine, a little bland but good portion size), pizza simone for main (lovely, goats cheese and caramelised red onion, couldn't fault it) and panne cotta for puddy (really very nice).
My son had the kids menu at £3.95. He choose a half pizza and chips (huge portion, would keep any kid happy, he loved the pizza) and ice cream for pud. No drink with the kids menu, though still a good price.
Hubby had potato skins (not a very big portion) then a cheese pizza (since the new menu they don't do a four cheese now. He asked for cheese and tomato with extra goats cheese and blue cheese so same result but have to pay for extra toppings. He finished every last bit of it and looked pretty pleased about it). Plus chips on the side and a banana split for pud.
The service was OK. Forgot to bring the requested chips with our main but they arrived a few mins after we queried. They brought a stake knife for hubbies pizza (he always asked for one to cut the base) and again this was no problem. I'm not really into the whole having to sing happy birthday to everyone and making a racket thing that they do here but it only happened once tonight and i guess thats a personal thing.
So our bill came to £45 for all the food mentioned plus two large glasses of house wine, two bottles of beer and a fruit shoot.
