Looked good from the outside, room was tiny, bathroom was really tiny and had not been cleaned at all - toothpaste and hair in sink, last occupants soap was still in soap dish, coffee cups in room had some food-like substance attached which were replaced the following day by cups with lipstick on, however, the bathroom still didn't get a clean. Breakfast was highly un-appetizing and again had bother with dirty crockery and cutlery. Was kept awake by noisy residents in nearby room and the bar noise was bad. The staff were helpful so that's a bonus! I certainly will not be back!!

This hotel is v cheap and one can expect certain problems but I thought I'd let you know what these are in case you're interested: for me, the worst thing was the terrible smell that came from the kitchen. (School cabbage, deep fat fryer etc). The other main gripe was that you could hear everything from the other bedrooms, starting at 6.30 with alarms, followed by showers, doors, elephants in the corridor etc etc
Apart from that, a perfectly reasonable place for the price.

we needed a quick fix for somewhere to stay in Kenilworth and found The Cottage Inn on late Rooms, a pub I know from years back, 47.50 is probably the correct price, but the double room was tiny, the shower room miniscule, no hot water at the sink, one bar of tiny soap, bed and floor boards creaked all night and the smell of the stale cooking oil from the kitchen was not good at all and lingered in our room all night, breakfast was mediocre at best, plenty off it, just not very good, and the coffee was frankly disgusting

on the upsides, and credit here, free wi fi, no problem, the staff were great and really helpful throughout our stay, but unfortunatley we will not be back

Room Tip: try and avoid the rooms at the front as the traffic is close by and quire busy

We were visiting a young relative at Warwick University, and so looked for accommodation for one night as close as possible. The Cottage Inn at Kenilworth seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

The Cottage Inn advertised itself as a quaint, historic country pub, only 4 miles away from our destination, relatively inexpensive, room rate included full English breakfast, free wi-fi, excellent restaurant specialising in traditional English fare.

Sadly, the reality was very far removed from the hype! Although not expensive (£47.50/night for a double room with en suite bathroom), and it was close by where we wanted to be, the room was so tiny that we had trouble walking around the bed, which was completely worn out, and so soft that we couldn't sleep. The towels were so thin and worn that they were threadbare. The bathroom was also tiny. The shower, which was in a cupboard, was also microscopic and had no shampoo. The restaurant advertised such traditional English fare as curry with rice, chips and peas (!) - we didn't eat there, unsurprisingly. The breakfast included only tea or instant coffee (ugh), and the fry-up was disgusting - greasy, undercooked bacon, sausages andeggs, a tiny spoonful of overcooked baked beans - do I need to go on?

My computer certainly found the house wi-fi network, but guess what? No-one on the pub's staff knew the password!

A place to be avoided at all costs.....

We stopped over here for one night to attend an event at Stoneleigh Park (a 5 minute taxi ride away)

Got a very reasonable price for a double room, although the facilities were basic they were adequate and everything was clean. Staff were friendly, and had a very tasty cooked breakfast in the morning.

Overall good value and would stay again if we were in the area.

I was a little wary of staying here after reading some of the reviews posted by others, but I needn't have worried.

My room was a little on the small side, but perfectly adequate for my single night stay, The en suite was a bit dated and not much room, but again fine for me. The hotel has free wi-fi in the rooms, but signal wasn't great, so dont expect ultra fast speeds.

Food is served down in the bar and is remarkably cheap. You can get a home made meal from under 6 pounds and portion size is good. The bar has a choice of real ales and the staff are friendly.

Breakfast is fine but average quality, however on the plus side, there is plenty of it.
There is also parking for about 15 cars behind the pub.

I stayed on a monday night and there were no issues with noise from the pub below the rooms

Would I stay again? Yes if I was on my own. Would I stay for a romantic weekend away? Nope. Please note though, it was great value for money. Booked via Late Rooms for about £35
