Holiday Inn Kenilworth - Warwick

Good road links for Coventry, Warwick and surrounding area, not too far for Birmingham.

Good onsite parking facilities, modern , clean hotel, rooms not the biggest in the chain but nice and modern deco and very clean.

Friendly staff throughout, on-site starbucks coffee shop (nice feature), small bar just behind reception. Hotel located at top of high street, not far to walk for resturaunts, bars and shops.

Nice breakfast, good choice of hot and cold choice.

One minor observation, aircon not the best (room 504), also bar would be better placed at front of hotel where coffee shop is located (my own opinion)

This was our first time for a Holiday Inn in the UK, we were pleasantly surprised. We had a slight glitch with the booking (through Hotels.com) but the staff were excellent and sorted everything out, they even gave us a complimentary breakfast. The hotel is well situated in Kenilworth,is extremely clean with good facilities and good food.Free parking and a Starbucks to boot. Would highly recommend .

The Holiday Inn in the center of Kenilworth was a pleasant surprise, in that we found it to be much nicer than most of the Holiday Inns in the US. Our room was on the luxurious side, dinner and breakfast were both very good, it's around the corner from the city park, a short walk to the castle, and IT'S AIR-CONDITIONED, which came in handy on Aug 10, that being part of a stretch of unusually-hot weather in the usually-cool England midlands. The problem was the price, which was up there with the expensive hotels. But I have a feeling they knew there was a shortage of rooms in the area that extended 40 miles or more in all directions. I know, because we did a lot of searching until the Holiday Inn in Stratford-Upon-A let us know about ONE room available in Kenilworth. We were happy to get it, and very pleased with the Holiday Inn there.

Also, Kenilworth is one of those towns you don't think of visiting when you've only got 35 nights of vacation, but it is a very relaxing and beautiful town. We loved the old Abbey fields and ruins, and it's cemetery and St. Nicholas Church, where we were treated to 20 minutes of engaging conversation with congregants exiting the building after Sunday morning services.

Decided to have a short break and find somewhere close to Warwick and Stratford upon Avon that was reasonably priced.Arrived at the Holiday Inn well before check in time and was greeted by a lovely young girl who told us that our room was ready. A good start to our break. As we were not sure where we would be eating in the evening we thought that we would try out the hotel for lunch to see the the standard of the food, it was excellent. So, booked the evening meal and had a leisurely drive around the area. Warwick is a very historical town so there was plenty to see.Had a great meal in the evening and the service was very attentive. After a very good breakfast we had a very easy and fast check out so we left the Holiday Inn with good memories. We found all the staff very friendly and courteous.

I stayed here for one night. I often stay in Premier Inns but this was my first experience of Holiday Inn so inevitably I was comparing the two. Holiday Inn is a bit more expensive, both for the room and for breakfast, and the rooms are certainly smaller than those in a Premier Inn. I had asked for a top floor room but was not given one, instead I was on the fifth floor so quite high up anyway. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom perfectly acceptable but the "hot" water in the basin was merely lukewarm so I had to boil water in the kettle to shave. Similarly, the shower was not hot, so I resorted to the bath which seemed a bit better. I ate in the restaurant for dinner and for breakfast and enjoyed the breakfast more than the dinner. All the staff I encountered were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Car parking was easy - but don't park under the trees!

Room Tip: I always ask to be as high up as possible in any hotel to mitigate traffic noise.
