I stayed at the woodside with my partner over the weekend for our friends wedding. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception and thought the Easter bonnets were a nice touch. When we arrived in our room it was a little small but had everything we needed and was clean. We were pleased with the service received during the wedding and the food was beautiful. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

This was a return stay after such an enjoyable experience last year we decided to come back. From the moment I arrived I was welcomed by a very smilie receptionist I think was called (Emma) who refreshed our memory regarding where everything was.

When we arrived at our room although it was a little small it had everything we needed and was clean which is the main thing, although we had to ask for more milk as we were parched but this was brought over straight away.

The food and drink offering was excellent, and by far the best breakfast I have had in a hotel. It was nice to see the restaurant manager Mark who even remembered us from the previous year and had a good chat with us. Our second night we dined out at a great local restaurant. The cross which was fantastic.

All in all another brilliant weekend spent at Woodside. Will see you again next year.

We were here to attend a wedding and we also stayed overnight, the whole experience was very mixed, the main issue was the staff at all levels that lack the most basic communication skills, there were a couple of exceptions.

I am easy going and polite but the introduction when we arrived at reception was surly bordering on rude, we only asked to register our details to save time later and we did not expect to check in but there was a defensive attitude immediately.

I tried to engage with staff all weekend and they were in the main not interested.

I am very considerate to staff having to work at an event like this as there is lots to do and some guests seem oblivious to this fact but I will always step back and let staff pass first or go through a door before me, I was not thanked once and the lack of basic manners surprised me.

The entrance to the accommodation and the public hallways are desperately in need of refurbishment and are really tatty.

The venue itself is nice, our room was lovely and has recently been refurbished, we had family staying in a room that has not been refurbished, it was very tired and needs updating.

The best part of the weekend was the food which was fantastic. The wedding meal was superb and the curry in the evening was a great idea and really nice.

The breakfast is as good as you will find anywhere with a massive section of cereals, pastries, fruit and hot food but again the staff did not want to engage.

This experience could have been much better with basic customer service and there is a real training issue here that needs to be addressed.

My family and I were looking for a Warwickshire Hotel to take in some of the local sites and found that the Woodside in Kenilworth was exactly what we were looking for and the price was right. The rooms were comfortable, food excellent and staff always very friendly and helpful. Having the swimming pool on site was an added bonus providing relaxation for us all. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable weekend break.

Room Tip: Ask for a family room but all-round great value.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend. The positives: great location, great food and great pool facilities. The room itself was basic and the service of staff was very hit and miss e.g. One day at breakfast staff would serve coffee, the next they wouldn't and would need asking. Also although breakfast was great, staff were not on the ball at replenishing the Buffett and therefore some days there were long waits. During our stay, the fire alarm sounded. We quickly left the building with our baby son, who had just gone to sleep. With the accommodation being away from the main building, we were surprised that no staff walked to the accommodation leaving everyone confused. We spent 5-10 minutes outside with our son as we walked across to the main house to be told the kitchen had just got over excited. Unfortunately this didn't help us get our son back to sleep or help us get back into our now locked room quickly. Common courtesy would have been for a staff member to let all the guests in the accommodation know that it was a false alarm!

As a business traveller I travel most weeks throughout the UK.
For the price you pay at this hotel I was expecting a pretty good standard.
Unfortunately the rooms which were separate from the Conference Centre were very dated, in need of re-modernising with a lick of paint.
The food overall was pretty good.
Overall sleep quality good, although banging of doors were a problem.
Location fantastic with great views.
Personally I would not stay here again as it's not good value for money and I would not recommend to others.

Was supposed to visit the hotel from 19th-21st february. The hotel was SO bad, we decided to leave after just one night! Reception was un-welcoming, and not a lot of information was given by receptionists. Rooms are in another building which seriously resembles that of University Flat/Blocks. The immediate smell of dust made me sneeze as soon as I walked through the doors, rooms were small with old fashioned curtains and there was not even room to put a suitcase flat out and unpack. Shower kept going from freezing cold to boiling hot so resulted in a frustrating shower experience! I dont think the windows have been fitted properly, as we could feel a strong draught through the window.

Breakfast (well dont even get me started!). Breakfast is from 7-9am, we arrived at 8.30am and was greeted by a rude man who lacked any customer service skills. My partner ate breakfast, but we noticed there was not a very good choice of breakfast, only 2 patisserie choices and one bowl of fruit.
I had to bottle feed my daughter so couldn't have any food straight away, and the next thing I know all of the food had been packed away and was not even asked if i would like to START eating breakfast!! so I paid an extra £10, for nothing. We also got funny looks from other staying guests because our 5 month old daughter was playing with her rattle in the breakfast room, with one lady saying 'that baby is being REALLY noisy'. Im sorry, but if your hotel is aimed mostly for Conferences and Business stays, you shouldn't advertise for families!!! I can safely say we will NEVER return to this hotel, it is fit for small conferences and snooty business people. We have now booked into another hotel, which is ALOT better than this one!!
