Stratford has a huge number of eateries but as I quite fancied fish and chips I decided to give Barnaby's a try. Decor was very basic and didn't look like it had had a lick of paint for years - whole establishment needs an urgent makeover. As I was on my own, this wasn't a major issue.
I ordered haddock and chips was cooked to order in 10 minutes. 8 minutes would have been better as it arrived slightly over cooked and starting to dry a little. Portion size was good, as was the quality of the fish. Service was OK. Sauces were at extra cost, which is rather stingy.
Barnaby's is OK but doesn't come close to fish and chip restaurants I'm used to living near the coast, which shouldn't be the case. It's a shame that with so many tourists visiting Stratford this prime location establishment doesn't try a bit harder.
