We had only a few hours in Stratford-upon-Avon, and I think we did well to do this tour. Our enthusiastic guide Barbara was a fount of knowledge and showed us heaps of things we would have missed walking around on our own. I learned heaps about the town and its famous inhabitant.

Feeding swans by the riverside , going through woods , and ending up at Shakespeare Grave and historic church , it's refreshing , unique and historic. You can also witness the opening and closing of locks by the canals.

Owen, our guide was incredibly knowledgable and entertaining. His tour included everything we wanted to know about Stratford and Shakespeare and things we didn't know we wanted to know, like our new favourite Victorian author that everyone forgot about, Marie Corelli. The icing on the cake were the audience-participation bits such as a pop-quiz of "Is this building a Tudor or mock-Tudor?" Owen is simply a natural-borne story teller. Go for a walk with him, you will not be disappointed!

Our guide Helen was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and friendly that she made the two hours plus go by so quickly. She knew her Shakespeare history and would offer interesting quotes from plays as she guided us around central Strafford Upon Avon. We saw most of the famous buildings associated with Shakespeare and she was able to answer our questions. We met as a group and paid on the day. We were then split into manageable groups of about 20. I would totally recommend this tour as a way to find your way around town and to learn about its history. Worth every penny
