We settled on this Travelodge as we were going to the CLA game fair. It was well situated for a short walk into Stratford. When we stayed the weather was unbearably hot but we were issued with a fan when we checked in - which was a lovely gesture. The room was large and spacious. Very clean and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Although overlooking the road we slept well, with the curtains open too. The beds are extremely comfortable and large. Bathroom was on the small side but adequate. It is a shame that this Travelodge is showers only. We had a really good deal, less than £75 for three nights. 24 hour Tesco opposite, so breakfast no problem. We didn't try the café at the lodge. All in all it does the job and does tick all the boxes for a cheap comfortable stay. If you only need a 'base' this is the one to go for. In my opinion they are better without the little chefs next door!!!

travel lodge offered extremely good value for money for a short break. The hotel was basic but very clean and only about a mile outside the town centre. Food and drink were available at reasonable prices.

Good location with free parking, very good value if you can get at a sale rate.

We had a lovely clean room with a new bed but it was very hot !!There was a fan provided but it didn't help much, not really anyone's fault as it was the hottest day of the year - I knew when booking there was no a/c - if that is important to you pay more and stay somewhere else.

Breakfast was good value but staff did allow things to run out rather that keep them topped up - we had to ask for milk, spoons and bread.

Cheap and cheerful, clean basic room in a good location. I would stay here again as it was very good value for money.

We stayed 10th -12th July in the recent hot weather - 3 adults in a 'family room' I think it was - a double bed and a sofa made into a bed.

The room was stifling hot and the window only opens a few inches (for safety). The room and bathroom were clean if a little lacking in hanging space - ie none.

The double bed was very comfortable but the sofa was awful for our third person. I discovered that the cushion / mattress is single sided - with covering on one side and the bare springs on the other. The sofa bed had been made up with the springs side to the top (it was in the material cover the wrong way up). Once I remade the sofa with the springs 'down' it was much improved and quite comfy.

The general areas were being refurbished during our stay. New paint going on corridor walls and recent new carpet in some areas.

The car park was good with sufficient spaces and I even saw contractors cleaning the area.

The Tesco over the road is very convenient if you only want a small breakfast (not the standard £7:50 charge for Travelodge breakfasts). However, the Tesco is hidden behind the large covered walkway in front of it and the window signage refers to a coffee chain.

The large dining space in the Travelodge was being used by hotel visitors at breakfast and in the evening - so it must be ok (we just didn't use it).

Reception staff were efficient and friendly.

Some other detail issues:-
Our room was above the entrance where there was a constant stream of smokers standing outside - their obnoxious smell came straight up and into the room (remember, hot weather and window open all the time). They appeared to be both visitors and staff.

We only had towels for 2 people despite booking for 3 (and the sofa made up for the 3rd). This was remedied at the desk with no bother. However, the same happened on the next day too.

Would I stay again - yes.

Room Tip: Face inwards to the car park but not above the entrance / smokers.

Stayed here from nights 14th / 15th July. One problem there is no air con !!! So no sleep !!! Askers for a fan got told their on order !! When it's hot like !!! And with a big tesco. Across the road should gone across and brought some or hire from a hire shop !!! If I had a baby or a child I would have left because it was so hot it could of become dangous !!! Buy fans !! Before someone ends up in hospital !!!!! I felt sorry for the staff because its not their fault. But their our at the front line of people moaning !!!

Our 2 day stay at this hotel was very pleasant although a little noise was heard from outside traffic. It is situated about an easy walkable half a mile from the town centre. Bedrooms were recently refurbished as were other parts of the hotel. On the morning we left new carpets were about to be laid on the stairs and landing. Enjoyable stay.
