“Great food and customer service”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Rooms are clean, bright and functional. Beds are extremely comfortable. Evening meals and breakfast are excellent and good value for money. Customer service was first class throughout our stay. Safe, well-lit free car park.

I booked a double room for myself & my wife. I was a little irritated though to see that check-in time was not until 15:00 hours but check-out time is 12:00 hrs. Apparently it now takes people 3 hrs to clean a small room ready for the next guest. If you want to check-in earlier, which many might if you're there for a city visit, you pay an extra £10 for the privilege on top of your present room cost. The staff though seemed friendly enough, the hotel clean & modern but still fairly welcoming & warm. I'd have liked 2 chairs for a 2 person room too & plug sockets near the bed too, not just near the window. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the main centre so fairly accessible & there are plenty of shops within a minute walk as well such as Tesco's, chain restaurants & a shopping mall. The area is obviously under development but pretty quiet despite the traffic during the day & there is little to no traffic at night. The only other thing that we was very disappointed with, in addition to the strange check-in time was our polite request to have our 2 small bags left within the reception or a storage area on our last day as we currently have no vehicle so arrived into Stratford by train. We were flatly told they wouldn't do that so we had to drag our bags around with us instead of leaving it with the hotel that we'd just spent a couple of nights at. We eventually found a shop in town that was very helpful in offering a service to look after bags & that cost around £5 for 2 bags for around 5 hours. A small thing but I've never had a hotel that was reluctant to store a couple of bags on check-out for a few hours for their customer. It left a bitter taste but you'd be alright if you have a car etc.

Room Tip: We asked for a room away from the main road. We were given a room facing the main road despite it be...

The room was a good size, well lit and spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The location was a ten minute stroll from the town centre, and close to shops, takeaways etc. The bed was comfortable.

However there was only one plastic chair between the two of us and quite a small surface to serve as a tea/coffee making area, dressing table, desk, recharging area. Bags had to go on the floor. The 'wardrobe' was a small shelf-like, open fronted affair, more like an extended coat rack. The bedside unit was replaced by a small niche in the bed head, which would take either a book, specs or cup of water, certainly not any two out of three.

Bearing in mind that the price we paid did not include food and cost almost the same as an offer for bed and breakfast in the town, I would not recommend it. At half the price the spartan approach might have been more acceptable. For that it would be worth packing a folding armchair. But this should not be necessary.

After a hectic cruise we stayed at the Travel Lodge in Stratford on Avon. When we arrived we had been travelling for 18hours, we were made to feel very welcome by the Duty Manager who made us a cup of coffee and made sure we were ok. Clean room, although we would have liked two chairs in the room as it was a double room, but the bed was really comfortable.Lovely stay. We thought £7.95 for breakfast was rather expensive if you only required tea, and toast. But there were very good cafes nearby.

Easy to find, just across the road from Tesco's (perfect for snacks for the kids!) and very nice and clean.
The staff were great; knew a lot about the area and where to go etc - their suggestions were very popular with the youngsters in the family.
Would stay here again if we are back that way.

Perfectly situated for anyone arriving by car as it is on Birmingham Road, the A3400, and, although not in the centre, it is less than 15 minutes walk to Shakespeare's birthplace and a further 5 minutes to the river. It is a typical Travelodge hotel with all the usual amenities and facilities; very modern, quiet and situated in a newly built residential area close to a shopping centre. Room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights, and the breakfast buffet should appeal to all tastes. good value for the money, especially as the rate included breakfast.

Stayed here for one nite you pay for what you get. Room was big it was quite clean but will say could do with a new shower curtain was a bit grim. When l go back to stratford would stay closer to the town was a bit far.
