Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent hotel. There is a large hotel car park which is free to park in, an absolute must if you are visiting by car. Very nice greeting on arrival and taken to our room. Room was really nice with all that was needed for a nice stay. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and the huge (high) bed had lovely crisp white sheets on it and was exceptionally comfortable. There was a tv and video in the room and you could borrow videos from reception (didn't do that so can't tell you about the selection available). Everything supplied was of an excellent quality from the tea and coffee to the toiletries in the bathroom. We had an evening meal included which was also very nice with a decent vegetarian option which is important to us. (No goats cheese in sight was a bonus!). The breakfast provided was very good indeed with a small buffet section and then a waiter served cooked breakfast. Tea, coffee and toast were served very quickly and cooked breakfast was delicious.
There are two important things I would like to mention, firstly there is no lift and while we only had to climb one very small flight of stairs to get to our room the restaurant is also down a flight of stairs. The second thing is do not have a room over the restaurant. They play music in the restaurant and we could clearly hear it in our room and it would have driven us mad if the wonderful girl on reception had not moved us down the corridor to a lovely quiet room - we did lose our luxury bathroom and only had a small shower instead but it was worth it to get away from the noise. We noticed the restaurant also played music in the morning over breakfast so we were even more relieved we had been moved!
I do feel bad about having to say anything negative about this hotel as we loved our weekend and it is in a dream location especially if you intend to visit the RSA as we did. It was a perfect evening as we left the hotel, crossed the road and entered the theatre building. We had a lovely pre-theatre meal there, saw a fantastic play at the Swan Theatre and had a five minute walk back to the hotel. The hotel is not just in an excellent location for the theatre as it is five minutes from the River and the shops. I would recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay there again.

Room Tip: Avoid a room directly over the restaurant if music annoys you.

Stayed two nights over a weekend for husbands birthday & really enjoyed the hotel. Rooms were fabulous, comfy beds & great food. Could do with music in restaurant/bar to create ambience as when it's quiet, it's really quiet! Oliver makes the best cocktails ever! Would definitely recommend & would stay again.

Stayed here with my Mother after the theatre at Stratford - we loved it. We stayed in the old part in the Deluxe Linden room, the compact room had a small table which we used for tea, coffee and the biscuits they supplied. The bathroom was huge and we loved the toiletries, white fluffy towels, bath robes. There was some noise from other guests returning to their rooms late at night, so if you are a light sleeper you may want to stay further away from the stairs.
The beds were lovely, after a good nights rest we had a beautiful breakfast - one of the best I've had in a long time. The staff and food were lovely, really attentive and even the French waiter made apologising for no marmalade at breakfast sounded good!!! Having said that I nearly ran out to the car to get them the jar of Frank Coopers Old English Marmalade I had bought to take home - you can't come to England and not have marmalade for breakfast!!!!
The reception staff who had greeted us so nicely, and personally showed us to our room, gave us a late check out.
Things to be improved: we did not find the website easy to navigate to find the things we needed, such as where the car park is (before you reach the hotel, need to go round the one way system to find) and what time check-in/out was.
We very much hope to be back and next time we definitely need to stay longer.

My 2 daughters and I went to the hotel before a theatre visit.
The hotel itself is in an amazing location for the theatres and the river
We only went for cocktails which were mighty expensive but were made with the finest ingredients right in front of us by a knowledgeable and friendly bar man
At the end of our visit the bar man came to see us to ask which was out favourite cocktail
We felt special, welcome and as if our custom was really valued
As we didn't spend the night there I can't comment on the rooms

Friends and I travel fairly regularly for short breaks to various parts of this country and Europe. I found this hotel and its staff friendly and professional. The atmosphere, position and décor was above average for a four star hotel . We enjoyed lunch, dinner and breakfast which were well presented and served. A lovely garden and good sized car park.
I highly recommend a stay at the Arden

Room Tip: we stayed in a deluxe which faced a quiet side road overlooking a RSC building, which was architectu...

I booked this hotel for my wife's xxth birthday celebration and had a great time with our children.
Location is of course wonderful. We used the resident's area for a post-matinee present ceremony and had very attentive service from Marenza (l hope I got her name correct). Then she served us a lovely dinner in a separate lounge which was great and lo and behold she was there in the early morning looking after breakfast and mid-morning coffee ! The rooms were very comfortable and worth the admittedly premium-ish pricing. I hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Elm is a lovely room with a very inviting bath and huge shower. It overlooks Chapel St so we had tra...

After a few hours of retail therapy we popped in for a light lunch. I chose the salad with prawns - asian style - which had a tasty chilli sauce; my dining companion had a toastie which came with salad and crisps and a decent glass of sauvignon blanc.

Service was swift and friendly, however the dining room was practially empty on a Saturday lunch time so I do get teh impression that most people use the hotel restaurant in the summer when al fresco dining is possible.

Room Tip: Only had lunch
