Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent hotel. There is a large hotel car park which is free to park in, an absolute must if you are visiting by car. Very nice greeting on arrival and taken to our room. Room was really nice with all that was needed for a nice stay. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and the huge (high) bed had lovely crisp white sheets on it and was exceptionally comfortable. There was a tv and video in the room and you could borrow videos from reception (didn't do that so can't tell you about the selection available). Everything supplied was of an excellent quality from the tea and coffee to the toiletries in the bathroom. We had an evening meal included which was also very nice with a decent vegetarian option which is important to us. (No goats cheese in sight was a bonus!). The breakfast provided was very good indeed with a small buffet section and then a waiter served cooked breakfast. Tea, coffee and toast were served very quickly and cooked breakfast was delicious.
There are two important things I would like to mention, firstly there is no lift and while we only had to climb one very small flight of stairs to get to our room the restaurant is also down a flight of stairs. The second thing is do not have a room over the restaurant. They play music in the restaurant and we could clearly hear it in our room and it would have driven us mad if the wonderful girl on reception had not moved us down the corridor to a lovely quiet room - we did lose our luxury bathroom and only had a small shower instead but it was worth it to get away from the noise. We noticed the restaurant also played music in the morning over breakfast so we were even more relieved we had been moved!
I do feel bad about having to say anything negative about this hotel as we loved our weekend and it is in a dream location especially if you intend to visit the RSA as we did. It was a perfect evening as we left the hotel, crossed the road and entered the theatre building. We had a lovely pre-theatre meal there, saw a fantastic play at the Swan Theatre and had a five minute walk back to the hotel. The hotel is not just in an excellent location for the theatre as it is five minutes from the River and the shops. I would recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay there again.
