My daughter and I had a meal from the pre theatre menu here on a Saturday. I cannot fault the staff, from the gentleman on the phone who originally took the booking, to the serving staff on the night, they were all very welcoming and pleasant. The only issues were the cramped tables, which meant talking was a bit difficult unless you wanted to share your conversation with others and the water which was offered, was luke warm. We asked for ice to make it more palatable, but it should have been iced in the first place. All in all, a nice meal and good customer service, but perhaps remove a table and offer water that is pleasant to drink.

We stopped in here for lunch after scouting around for somewhere with a suitable menu (we're two vegetarians). I think we caught them at the tail end of their lunchtime service as we had the place to ourselves!

We both had the soup of the day (chilled courgette and rosemary - perfect for the hot weather) followed by the grilled vegetable salad. Both were delicious! And for £13 per person for the two courses a very reasonable price too.

Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant, while small, was very pleasant.

All in all N0. 9 Church St is highly recommended. We wish we'd come back for our evening meal too!

We dined here with our grand-children on Saturday. The service was attentive and pleasant; the food beautifully cooked and presented. My grand-daughter (9), pronounced the chicken as " delicious" and " absolutely perfect"! The crab salad tasted really fresh and the fish moist and firm. Of particular note seemed to be the gingerbread ice cream with gooseberry crumble. The Fondant chocolat with Pistachio ice cream and cherries also went down well with them. A great evening - thank you.
