As a Stratford resident, I have visited the Townhouse on several occasions and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. After several very enjoyable experiences I decided to choose this venue to plan a surprise 40th Birthday for my husband. The Library is the perfect private party venue. It seated 20 people comfortably and the stylish surroundings make it feel luxurious without an obscene price tag! At £25.00pp for a 3 course set menu and coffee i felt the cost of the meal was very good value. There was a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts, certainly something for everyone! The food was beautiful, it was served quickly so we were all able to eat together.

In addition the service was fantastic. We had one waiter, Theo who looked after us for most of the night, he always seemed to be on hand for any of the guests to order drinks or a taxi. What a star!

We really had a fantastic night from the planning and arranging with Rachel to the service and food on the night. I couldn't fault it. I would highly recommend this venue.

What can I say?... Had a wonderful long weekend here in April. Had lots of plans to visit the sites, and ended up spending most of our time in the hotel lounge, drinking tea, reading the newspaper and watching the world go by. Evenings sloped in on champagne happy hour, delicious snacks and a piano player in the bar. It was too hard too to leave, even though the hotel is right in the centre of town.

Gorgeous decor with an ultra-modern palette of soft grey, white, silver and red, combined with extra-comfortable vintage style and quirky detail. The staff were charming and couldn't do enough to help, food was fab (great breakfasts!) and the bed was huge and spectacularly comfy. Room 1 has a large wet-room bathroom with rainwater shower and all our comforts were taken care of, including complementary toiletries, biscuits, port, bottled water. I'd be very happy to live there on a permanent basis and the deal for a third night at 50% off was the icing on the cake

Spent a night here last week and teamed it up with an RSC show. Wow! A truly special place to stay, the attention to detail is superb( fresh milk in fridge, hair straighteners in room along witha decanter of port, scrummy biscuits and gorgeous toiletries.) The rooms are beautiful and sumptuously decorated, the location is very central and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Treat yourself..this hotel ticks ALL the boxes !

This is a fantastic gorgeous boutique hotel. Wonderful funky interiors throughout from the bars and restaurant to the staircase and rooms. I stayed in room 12 on the top floor which was very spacious with double aspect windows making it lovely and light. Lovely black and silver french style furniture with a rolltop bath and candles and a nice big shower in the bathroom. Loved the free port and little chocolate shortbreads in the room, and a fridge with proper milk! It is right in town so great for shops and places to eat. The food was so good in the hotel's restaurant we didnt eat anywhere else for our whole stay. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the bars and resturant. Can highly recommend it. The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I'm already planning my next stay.

Room Tip: Room 12 is very light with double aspect windows and a roll top bath as well as double shower

We were visiting Stratford to see a play (of course) and made it a two day break. The hotel is perfectly sited for visitors as it sits diagonally across from the archeological dig that is Shakespeare's house and walking distance to both the RSC and Swan theatre's. The hotel provides visitors with everything that is needed to make the stay enjoyable. We were in Room 3. It is full of character and clever use of space means that there is both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The bed was huge and very comfortable and hard to leave in the mornings. Although there are many places to eat in Stratford, especially by the riverfront, we chose to eat at the hotel. Everything we ate was delicious and a great deal of care had obviously been taken in preparation and service. The staff in all areas of the hotel were lovely and clearly well trained. Not only did they possess knowledge about the history of the building but had knowledge of the local area. They are a credit to the owners.
I would advise anyone who is thinking of visiting Stratford upon Avon to stay here. We are planning to return in the very near future, if they have any rooms left!

Room Tip: If you can, book room 3!
