This accommodation did not live up to the expectations portrayed in the English Country Cottages Brochure. Instead of arriving at a wonderful country house we found ourselves staying in a dirty below par house. The kitchen hob had not been cleaned, undersink bin not emptied, dirty crockery etc. The lounge looks good on website move throws on sofa's and the neglect is evident. Bed linen dubious as to whether is had been changed but definately not ironed at these prices I expected the linen pristine. Bathrooms left a lot to be desired rusty shower cubicle with the shower head held up with sellotape and hair inside and outside the cubicle, checked under the sink this also had not beed cleaned for a long time. Check The Electric Meter on Your Arrival as the norm is to read the meter when guest vacate in the morning and the next guest pays for the electricity used to clean the house for their arrival we had a discrepency of 31 Units. Unscrupulous customer service considering you cannot get access until 4pm. Paid £75 for fuel which was supposed to be either for central heating or heating of the pool alas we had the use of neither. Pool closed because it was middle of September never mind that temperature was warmer than in June, therefore we never needed central heating either and no refund. Five weeks on and we still have not received the balance of our electricity deposit.
