I only visited the Spa- had the classic aromatic facial. It was the best and I loved the wheat and sunflower face mask!!

Me and my partner booked at very short notice...(on the day!) for a Saturday night. It was expensive but totally worth it. The reception staff were very friendly and the front of house gave us information on the best places to visit in stratford, during our stay. Our room was a lovely size and very clean and tidy. The bed was amazing. The only downside was the view of a brick wall from our window, however, with everything else being so great it was never a real issue. We used the pool and steam room which was lovely but got bored after about 30mins. We has drinks in the conservatory of the bar, which were expensive but well prepared. We had prebooked dinner which was off a set menu and it was fantastic. We then took the 5minute walk.. in massive heels..(the location is perfect) to town and had a lovely time. Breakfast was gorgeous.. there was loads of variety and the staff very efficient. Check out was easy and we genuinely loved our stay in this hotel.

Stayed at the Swans Nest, sister hotel to the Alveston Manor, very nice hotel. Ate in the restarant in the Alveston Manor on Monday night and the food and service were both excellent. Many thanks to Keith and his team for a wonderful dinner.

Room Tip: Both Alveston Manor and Swans Nest only 5 to 10 minutes walk to town center

A good experience - comfortable, spotlessly clean room & a warm welcome from reception. We dined at their restaraunt & the food was delicious & staff very attentive & friendly.

We never did get to the swimming pool/spa, but really enjoyed our short stay at the Alveston. The hotel room was rather a long walk/climb from Reception, but we discovered a door out to the rear car park which made things easier as regards luggage. I can't fault the service, the breakfasts, or dinner. The wood-panelled lounge was a quiet haven for after-dinner coffee. If the weather had been brighter we could have sat outside in the beautiful gardens. Even though we coincided with a coachload of visitors the place didn't lose its historic ambience, nor the staff their professionalism. As is usual with Macdonald hotels the wines and bar drinks are expensive, but the room was comfortable, everything was very clean. Unfortunately the shower gel/shampoo wasn't renewed, nor the biscuits - and there was no bottled water in the room during our stay. Minor annoyances. We look forward to returning next year regardless!
