We never even got to stay at this hotel. On the day of our reservation we received a garbled phone message telling us that they had over booked and that we were being shunted elsewhere. Our booking had been made weeks ago. When I asked why, I was given a variety of excuses depending on who I was talking to. The final excuse, given by the deputy manager was this one:
"Additional rooms are sold via the hundreds of websites we appear on, after we close each site to selling rooms. This can occur as changes to sites can take several hours to be updated on each system and it means we become overbooked".
So beware! A reservation under this system cannot be guaranteed. You too could find yourself thrown out like us.

Stayed her for a weekend break, the hotel was nice and clean, staff very friendly and location was excellent, just a short stroll into town, I would definately recommend.

Stayed here for 1 night oct 2011. Reception service slow but efficient. Rooms small but adequate for what we wanted. Bed was quite soft but had a lovely nights sleep. Tea and coffee in the rooms. Bathroom and bedding clean. Must admit that the food didn't smell very appealing however we didn't eat here apart from breakfast which was included in our price. Breakfast was good, good choice, good service and reasonable quality. Location was great, easy walking distance into town, about 5 minutes before you are in town centre. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Lots of historic points of interest. Would stay here again for a reasonable priced hotel.

The welcome from frendly efficient reception staff set the standard for our few days break at this hotel located within easy walking distance from the town. The standard room at the back was clean and comfortable, but no views from the window.
The breakfasts are excellent with good choice to suite most peoples taste. The quality of enening meals are good but choice is from identical daily menue.
The carpark fills quickly each evening, this could be a problem for late arrivals. But it was the frendlly helpfull staff that really made our few days stay so enjoyable.

I stayed here on business and booked through a 'late rooms' site, not noticing that I selected 1 occupant so got allocated a single room, even though it was the same price as a double. When I arrived I noticed the location-right on the main road out of Stratford. I asked at reception if the room was on the road and the receptionist told me it was at the rear of the building. Unfortunately she got it wrong! I was right at the front- it was a warm night and theres no A/C so I needed the window open. At times I felt like I was sleeping on a motorway! The hotel was full and I had one of the only singles so wasn't able to move rooms.

The hotel is in an old Georgian(?) house and is a labrynth of corridors and rooms. Its well situated right on the edge of the town centre. Slightly old fashioned but I guess thats in keeping with the area and architecture. I can accept no A/c but can't accept why hotels (not just this one) tend to have heated towel rails which can't be turned off. This made the bathroom unbearably hot and contributed to the stuffy climate in the room.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was OK but for the price, I was disappointed overall with the room and sleep quality.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back

The only good thing about this hotel is its location and the Duty Manager. We went to check in and were pushed from the word go to upgrade to an executive room for an extra £15, which we were prepared to do but there was not one available at the time. Therefore, we decided to have a wander around stratford and check in later. When we returned, we were shown to a room on the first floor which was hotter than a sauna! We realised that we could not open the window because the generator was directly outside the room and making a terrible noise. Therefore, we asked to move. We were given another standard room, as they did not have any executive rooms left with air conditioning. Later, we returned to the room and we went to get the spare pillows out of the wardrobe and noted that there was something distinctly unsavoury on the pillow. We were prepared to overlook this but when we went to shut the curtains, we noticed there was congealed food on the curtains. We called reception and were told to come and collect a key for the room opposite. We asked the receptionist to meet us there with the key but after 5 minutes of waiting we gave up and went to reception. The Duty Manager was there and he offered to move our room again. Unfortunately, the hotel staff had just upgraded someone to the last executive room so we were left with a freezing cold room in need of some re-decoration. As a gesture of goodwill, we were given a bottle of champagne and we left for dinner. The Duty Manager did put a heater in the room for us as well. The next morning, we had an average breakfast and left.

We booked this hotel for the location, just a 2 minute walk to the main town and about 4 minutes to the theatre, we were in room 255 and it was perfect we could not fault it, the bathroom was a good size and spotlessly clean, the bar staff were very efficient and polite, the bar food was also a good price and very nice.
The breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice, we would definately book this hotel again.

Room Tip: we like to be at the front (room 255), probably quieter at back if you don't like passing traffi...
