We stayed here this weekend for a business occassion, the room was nice, all the meals we had were of a good standard, the only thing that is really disappointing was the lack of any view of the river from the room. We were on the first floor and looked towards the river but the view was totally obscured by the roof of the dining room and its facia. I am not sure that the people on the 2nd floor had a view either, its a bit of a swizz when all the pictures give you an impression of overlooking the water. I must say in its defence that the dining room has a good view of the garden. It is also a perfect place to stay if you want to wander around Stratford, it is only a few steps to the centre of town. We would come back and stay here under our own steam and spend some more time in town.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights; night one we booked a table in the restuarant for 8.15pm no problem said the desk clerk. We paid the full price but were offered a very restricted salad bar as an earlier sitting had used most of it up and was not topped up.
Our room was situated directly above the kitchen area and we had to suffer the very noisy extract fans which sounded like a lorry engine reving up directly outside our window, this started at 5.30am and woke us up, we could not sleep after that.
I would not recommend eating at the hotel and to double check that the location of the room is nowhere near to the kitchen area.
Not good value for the prices we were charged.

Room Tip: Check the room location, some are very poor.

Although this hotel has a few flaws, it is otherwise very well located and generally
commodious. The buffet breakfast, for example, is rather sumptuous for a chain hotel
including a full English breakfast as well as an impressive selection from a buffet
table. The room that we occupied for four days was clean and comfortable with a
modern bathroom which included a bath/shower combination with a useful shower
spray head. The grounds of the hotel are attractive, including a garden area overlooking
the Avon replete white swans. We were surprised to find that the hotel charged a fee
for the use of wifi, which should have been included. Finally the old fashioned small
screen television received only a few useless channels and the reception was sub
standard. On the plus side we were able to attend four performances at the theatre
so the lack of television was not a big issue. We were able to get a good B&B rate even
with a parking fee that was reasonable compared to other hotels

I have stayed here twice and both were excellent experiences. The hotel is walking distance from pretty much anything in Stratford - especially the theatre. The breakfast and dinner buffets are pretty great.

We had booked 2 double rooms and were upgraded to executive suties which we eventually located after walks along lenthly corridors. Comfortable and clean. View was overlooking roofs with air-con units. I was woken at 7am by contractor working on an aircon unit underneath our window. The manager was informed when we checked out and we were re-imbursed a % of our room cost. As usual in this chain all bathroom shampoos etc were provided. Fluffy white towels. Breakfast was self service, plentyful and delcious. Tea is poured by staff from flasks, and we would have preferred fresh in our own teapots. A busy hotel that charges £5 per vehicle for parking - and not always close to the reception. Best thing about this hotel is the location. Once parked you are next to the river, RSC and shops.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near to reception - the corridors are very long

Location (and a decent rate) was the main driver to choose this hotel. It's right in the town centre, on the river, 5 mins walk to the RSC theatre. Good sized room and very clean. Bathroom compact but had everything you need. Some grumbles... Couldn't get TV to work (am not stupid...and my friends couldn't get theirs off a radio channel), couldn't get aircon to work ( but at least the window opened), walls really really thin. Friends had a room and they cut hear neigjbours' kids bedtime story! But with a decent rate I would stay there again. Friendly reception staff.

Room Tip: Away from the road round the back!

Dear JamieW,

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I certainly apologize for the inconveniences you experienced with your TV and A/C.

I was disappointed to read that you had a poor service experience when you stayed at our hotel. I will follow up with the Executive Housekeeper to avoid similar situations. I am pleased that our staff was able to off set this displeasure with great service. Despite the challenges you faced I was pleased to note that you appreciated the location of our hotel, an aspect of our hotel that is preferred by many of our guests.

Once again, we appreciate you taking the time to share your comments with us. We know you have many choices when it comes to lodging and we hope your future travel plans will continue to include IHG.

Regards,
Brenda J.
