Nice breakfast, nice staff, good location. The swimming pool was great even if a bit shallow and small but since nobody was there in the evenings, it didn't bother us that much. We recommend hiring a boat or walking along the Avon; the views are wonderful!

Stayed last weekend as we were attending a family 40th birthday party. This hotel is obviously well used and was no doubt full. Stayed here when it was the Moat House years ago when it was much nicer and not shabby like it is now. The standard bedroom's are very tired and ours was not particularly clean as the table and some chairs had a visible accumulation of dust and the windows were dirty. The biggest complaint we had was with the breakfast. After waiting in a long queue we were then told the restaurant was full and were shown into a conference room which was set up with a buffet for a group of american students. The food was absolutely disgusting and no better in the main breakfast room. Also the toasters were not working and the coffee machines were struggling. The restaurant seemed totally understaffed and it was absolute chaos. We eventually gave up had the breakfast cost knocked offf the bill for all 3 rooms and had breakfast in the centre of Stratford.

A group of four friends and i stayed at the Holiday Inn for a weekend in July. The hotel was in a very good location, right in the heart of the city centre. The hotel was clean and comfortable however a little out dated with the decor. The rooms also didn't have a mini fridge in them which made it difficult for you to have drinks in your room or water etc. Overall my stay was enjoyable but i don't believe it was worth the money that i paid. I would perhaps look at a bed and breakfast next time.

We stayed for 2 nights in July with 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 9 and 6 years) in 2 connecting rooms. The adults' room had a double bed and the kids' room had twin beds and a sofabed. The decor and furnishings in the rooms were basic, and the view was useless, but very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were always extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good enough, buffet style.
I was surprised to see that there is a swimming pool and gym in the hotel which I hadn't realised when we booked, but maybe that's because they don't make a big feature of it because it really is teeny weeny! On the plus side though there was only one or two other people using the pool when the kids went to splash around so it was fine for them.
There is a nice outdoor patio area off the bar looking onto the river, and riverboat trips directly from the hotel.
The most excellent thing about this hotel is the location for Stratford. It is a very short stroll to all of the toursty things, theatres, shops, cafes etc. and has a nice spot by the river. With the spacious connecting rooms and the friendly service and reasonable rates I would definitely choose this hotel again and recommend it for families.

We were greeted very effiently and in a friendly way at reception, and were pleased to find out that we had been upgraded to an executive king room. Nice little touches, Cadbury chocolates, bottled water, slippers and dressing gown in our bedroom which overlooked the carpark and front entrance towards the canal. Huge bed, fridge, magazines, daily newspaper all made for good comfort. The hotel is quite large but has a great position on an extention to the river, where you can have a boat ride for £5 for 45 minutes. The restaurant is right by gardens which lead onto the river, and very nice place for a drink. It was extremely busy whilst we were there, if not full, so breakfast was a bit of a frenzy in the morning, and the usual fare hot and cold. Good value at £15 for two.

We had little noise in our room, even though we were so central and the town was full of motor bikes due to a big bike meeting there that weekend.

The consiege was very helpful in finding us a good place to eat (The One Elm) All in all, a great hotel for a weekend away.

The staff at this hotel are lovely we had no problems what so ever with checking in or out. The room itself was nice, clean and bigger than most standard hotel rooms. One little moan though - the Swimming pool could have been a little bit bigger as 5 people were trying to swim whilst there was a couple of kids messing around in the pool. Other than that we had a brilliant stay and would recommed this hotel.

This is our first stay at the hotel for three years and since then they have finished their renovations.

I was really pleased to see that they have increased the number of disabled badge car park places.

Check-in went smoothly and the receptionists were very friendly and helpful especially when I needed to know where the nearest Walk In Centre was.

Since the last time we stayed here they have completely refurbished the bedrooms and they're lovely. The bathroom was spotless. The bedroom furniture wasn't dark and dingy like the last time. If I had to criticize the bedroom it would be for two reasons. The TV was quite big and bulky - most hotels have now gone for flat screen TV's, and there wasn't any biscuits in the hospitality tray. Picky I know but you do get both of these things in budget hotels.

Other than breakfast we didn't eat in the restaurant. However at the time of our stay they were offering a really good deal should you wished to dine in their restaurant (we're not a big fan of carverys so went to the Red Lion over the road...). Breakfast was splendid and very fresh. Again if you were staying room only they had a great deal for Breakfast.

They have a large bar and lounge and the bar prices were on the high side but that's standard for hotels. However on arrival we were given a book of discount vouchers for the bar and restaurant which softened the blow of the high prices a little.

Because of the location of the hotel being next to the river and the extensive grounds they have, the hotel was plagued with little flies which was extremely irritating. Instead of having a relaxing drink in the lounge, we spent our time wafting the flies away and had to leave two drinks because of flies landing in them (not nice...). We weren't the only ones to find this annoying. One couple did complain but was told it was just one of those things.

Although there is a car parking charge of £5 per stay, given it's central location, I think that was very good value.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, though next time we might stay a little later or earlier in the year to avoid the pesky flies....
