my husband and I stayed here May 2010, staff upon check in very friendly, also we was able to check in early as we was going to the races the same afternoon, room was very large, bed was comfy, all room clean and tidy, room was facing the main road, but didnt seem or hear like we was, windows really blocked out the noise. few minutes walk into town, we went for a lovely dinner, lots of offers for early dining, highly recommended doing. breakfast good, waiting staff also good, will defo be returning to this hotel.

We arrived around noon and parked our car as we were early. The car park is huge so no problem finding a space. We spent the afternoon in town and returned to check in at 3 which went without a hitch. the room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the river and was clean and spacious. plenty of towels, pillows etc. About time they ditched those old TV's though as they take up lots of space. We added breakfast for £15 for 2 which was not too bad and went down at 9.30 around an hour before it finished. We had to queue for around 20 minutes for a table, another 15 for the food. There were no glasses for juice and the whole place looked a digusting tip with more tables unavailable as they were not cleaned off, than were available, hence no doubt the queues. For a 4 star hotel this must be sorted as if we go again we will wander accross to BHS or M&S for a breakfast

We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn while visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. The bed was very comfortable, with there being a choice available between a soft or firm pillow. The Holiday Inn is really well situated within Stratford-upon-Avon, with the open-top tour bus departing nearby and the centre of town being only a 2 minute walk away. I would describe the food at breakfast and in the bar as average, although the service was excellent.

we went to stratford for our anniversary and stayed at the holiday in and was really pleased. Michelle on reception couldnt do enough for us, we arrived without having made a booking but they sorted us a lovelly spacious room. The location could not have been better with a river boat outside the hotel and a couple minutes walk you are in the centre of things. Breakfast was very busy but the service and the breakfast was of a high standard we willl definitally be visiting again and would recommend this hotel!!!

We don't live very far away, but my 6 year old wanted a daytrip , so I booked this last minute.
We were expecting a basic and budget experience, but the staff really made us feel welcome and valued. no mean feat with an overexcited 6 year old in tow!!!
amazing deep hot bath. fluffy towels, comfy bed. good movie and burger and chips in the bar for two.
would definitely go again and will recommend to friends.
the staff made all the difference and went the extra mile!!!!

Myself, my mother and my 9 year old son stayed in a family room for one night on 4th May 2010. I am so glad that we only booked one night! The room was dated with poor decor and was grubby. The bedbase was torn and dirty. The shower did not work and we were only able to shower by holding the hand shower. The bathmat was dirty. The separate bunkbed area of the room was sparse and very unwelcoming without even a bedside table or chair. The net curtains and windows were mouldy. The whole room needs to be refurbished.
We complained at reception and were told that there were no other rooms available and that the manager would contact us shortly (still waiting for his call!)
The breakfast was repulsive! The restaurant manageress was walking around the restaurant carrying a coffee pot containing coffee resembling dish water, totally undrinkable! Without exception every member of staff in the restaurant was miserable and had a 'couldn't care less' attitude. The choice of food was very limited and of poor quality. The cooked breakfast was cold and dry. This hotel should be stripped of its four stars and downgraded to a 2 star!
When I returned home,I was invited by Email to fill in an online survey of my stay by the hotel. I did this and sometime later I received a response from the hotel stating that they were sorry that I did not enjoy my stay and that the General Manager and Ownership of the hotel had been informed of my disatisfaction and that they would contact me within 48 hours to address my concerns. To date I have not received any response. Customers are obviously not important!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only plus point that I can make was that there was ample parking at the reasonable price of £5 per day.
I can recommend 'IL Moro' an Italian / Sardinian Restaurant just a short walk from the hotel, authentic Italian food, reasonably priced, lovely atmosphere, very friendly owners.
