Had a lovely stay at The Stratford. Amy welcomed us to the hotel and was helpful from the start. The rooms were really nice. Location central. Breakfast great. Only critiscm is the bar prices are a bit steep!
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

After a shaky first visit I was invited back to this hotel and noticed a marked improvement. The Stratford is a very nice hotel and worth its 4 stars. However, it is really more suited as a business/conference hotel, than a romantic or luxurious getaway. That said, do not be deterred as it's probably the best hotel in Stratford and location s brilliant for walking everywhere. The QStar rooms are by far the best available in the hotel and room 221 was very large and comfortable, although the bathroom is small and the TV even at 32" could do with being larger for viewing in bed, as the room is so long I almost needed binoculars to watch it. Staff at the hotel are very pleasant, but the restaurant lacks a little finesse and although food is acceptable it is nothing special and there is plenty of room for improvement.

Room Tip: Opt for a QStar Room

landed there late night - was told there is no one and room service is just sandwiches. to top it the air condition blew out , got my room shifted but it wasnt working there either - thi si all at 3 in the morning. finally slept. next morning asked for my coat to be pressed said the service will start only at 11 am - through the 3 day stay there got similar responses. the breakfast was good but rest of the services were below par.

there are far better hotels in the area to stay in.

I was disappointed to read of the experience you had during your recent stay. We are proud of our high customer service levels which clearly weren't evident on this stay. Our room service menu from 11pm has limited options as usual in most 4 star hotels, we are able to provide a full dining option prior to this time. I am sorry that this was not suitable on this occasion. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

Stayed here for two nights for valentines, room was clean and modern, although the bed sheets had quite a few holes and rips in, wasn't impressed with the lack of tv channels either.also be carefull when checking out, when we checked our bill they had put on a charge for £63 even though we had already paid in full. Breakfast was really good, good choice of food buffet style. hotel charges £5 a night for parking but we struggled on both nights to find an available space. Considering how much the hotel costs, I think charging for car parking also was excessive. If you want your breakfast brought to your room it states on their menu it's £5 per person, however, it's actually £8 as they add an extra £3 ontop, be careful of this. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Conveniently located next to the town centre in a good location. Air conditioning had a mind of its own - one minute it was boiling, then it was freezing, then it was completely off! Overall good but will probably try somewhere else if we stay in Stratford again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from stairs

We arrived late Friday night around 9pm to find the car park full with no designated space to park, not ideal when you get charged £5 a day for parking.

After checking in we went up to our superior room. This room was very spacious and decorated very tastefully. The bathroom is well laid out with a great power shower. The TV is a little small with very limited channels, 1-5 plus sky news and itv2. The bed linen was clean and fresh, the bed itself very comfortable. The mini fridge in the room was good a idea, and the wardrobe space is ample for a short stay.

The breakfast was excellent with varied selection based around a continental option. This was included in our booking but is charged at £12.50 individually which is a little steep for what you are getting.

The only let downs for the short stay was a late phone call Friday night while we was fast asleep in regards to a noise complaint. The following morning I questioned this at reception, the employee on reception knew of no such complaint but suggested someone would / should go in person to investigate before making the call and apologised.

The evening dinner menu is very over priced considering the wide selection of bistro's and restaurant's on 'The Stratford's' door step. Based on this with the added complication of a wedding function we decided to take a walk and eat out. Upon return we decided to get a drink from the bar. The other half had a Malibu and cranberry on the rocks while I had a single Jack Daniels coke which came to £10.35 a little steep for two singles which were carefully measured out.

So to summarise overall it was an enjoyable stay. The decor of the hotel on a whole is excellent and the exterior is just as good. Good comfortable nights sleep and the breakfast is great served between 7:30-10:30. Parking is a little to be desired at the £5 a day but overall I'm quite happy with what we paid for our weekend. We booked well in advanced which saw us get the package for £100 cheaper than the prices being advertised a week before our stay.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get the superior room at least. When I walked through the corridor in the mor...

Thank you for your comments and feedback. I am disappointed your were disturbed through the night, this will be addressed with the team on duty and I can only apologies for the inconvenience. We very rarely have issues with space for car-parking, however on Friday night i am aware that the car-park was extremely busy, we do however provide additional parking to the front of the hotel which I am sorry wasn't made clear on this occasion. I do hope that we will be able to welcome you back in the future despite these points raised.

Kind regards

We stayed here for two nights on valentines. The hotel is within two mins walk to the town centre and all its facilities. The car park is value for money as only £5 per day and after check out you can still leave your car there for the day.
The rooms were lovely but we did have a room that had a low ceiling so did find myself hitting my head a couple of times! I was surprised not to have more shower gel and shampoo on the second day as we had very little left in the bottles, But that is the only fault, the rooms were lovely and clean.
The breakfast was outstanding with everything you would want and the staff offered great service-nothing seemed like too much trouble.
We will definatly stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to the toiletries provided, it appears on this occasion this was an over site and having spoken with our Housekeeper she will ensure this is reviewed with the team. Thank you for your comments about breakfast.

Arrived mid morning we were able to park the car and was shown to our room which was ready
for us.Everyone was very helpful and proffessional. The room was spacious and had everything you could need.Situated just a couple of minutes walk from the town, this was ideal.
The bar was clean and pleasant with good service. The prices were a little on the expensive
side but you expect that in a hotel.well worth it for the ambiance.
Breakfast next morning was first class. What can I say, there was everything you could think of and more.Very good service from all staff. I would definetily use this hotel again for a weekend stay.If we were staying a few days we may choose somewhere with spa/fitness facilities.
