“Relaxing Break”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Q Hotels never disappoint. This was no exception.Good room overlooking well laid out ample sized car park with trees and foliage separating various sections. Food and service was excellent. The pool was ok - was surprised it was so deep though apart from slope at one end. I couldn't stand up in it. And pool area generally was quite dark. Also first Q hotel been to where there hasn't been a Jacuzzi. The tennis court, which was a bit of an eyesore was closed and needs re-surfacing. However on the plus side there was a nice short walk up behind the tennis court to the top of the hill with views over the surrounding countryside and also a decent climbing frame/swing for children.

Room Tip: The accommodation is laid out in separate interconnecting blocks - we had to go up a short set of st...

We have just got back from a 2 night stay at the Stratford Manor Hotel over my birthday - it was the first time we have gone away for a break without the children for 7 years. The hotel did not disappoint. The rooms were comfortable and well fitted out although not spectacular. We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool/steam room - fantastic although I can imagine it would be a little cramped during peak time. I also had a Spa treatment (hot stones!) which was wonderful.
The food, although not cheap, was very good and well presented. My husband has a dairy allergy and usually has to write off most of a menu but he had plenty of choice. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice and no food wallowing in grease.
The staff could not do enough for us. I cannot speak highly enough of them (especially Kath who was working in the restaurant). Like I said, we went over my birthday - I had a card from the staff and a special dessert with dinner. Really nice touches that made it all special.
We had a lovely time and as busy people who get very little down time, we came home feeling refreshed and would definitely go back again.
There are plenty of people who find things to complain about. I have to wonder what they expect but when you see people turn up to eat in a 4* hotel wearing jeans, you have in effect answered your own question. We enjoy good food and I like to think we have reasonable expectations. We had a great time. Recommended to anyone who doesn't wear jeans to a quality restaurant!

Dear Lastratstanding, thank you so much for your kind words, I have passed these onto the team and nominated Kath as part of our ThankQ4 recognition scheme. We are pleased to hear you had a great stay on your own and I'm sure whilst you'd like another similar night away we know how hard this can be! We are also a very family orientated hotel with small outside kids play area, games room in the summer holidays as well as the pool for the children to enjoy. Hope to see you back soon. With regards, Christine

Chosen because of proximity to Stratford (although close also to Warwick & Kenilworth), a nice swimming pool and availability of interconnecting rooms. Did not disappoint.

Everything went very smoothly from arrival to departure - service great throughout and facilities somewhat better than expected.

Quality of room and food much better than expected. Decent value too.

Would return.

Room Tip: Interconnecting rooms great - our family of 5 configured: 1 double bedroom + 3 singles bedroom

Dear LuckyLooch, thanks for your review, just to let you know we have a small kids play area outside and in the school holidays a games room to help keep the little ones entertained as well. Hoping you can stay with us again when in the area and get to use these facilities. With regards, Christine.

If your looking for a nice classy place to relax... keep looking.

This is a very boring non luxurious place to stay.

We booked in for 2 nights. I cancelled the second night the morning we woke up. It was the best £9 surcharge I spent in that hotel.

At the best I would compare it with a old travel lodge hotel.

We then found a superb hotel for an extra £40 down the road.

I stayed here with my wife in a standard room on a bed and breakfast basis, for two nights. The room was nice. It what we have come to expect from this type of hotel, with the bathroom near the door as you enter the room and a comfortable bed chairs/sofa in the main area. The room was a nice size,a little larger than normal, and was clean and quite new.
The bar area was fine, if a little cold. The bar staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. In fact all the staff were very helpful. The food was ok'ish but it's to be remembered that this is a hotel that serves food rather than a restaurant that has bedrooms.
Breakfast was ample but there were a few niggles. The toaster was the dreaded conveyer type, where it can take a number of passes through the toaster to get the desired result. There was therefore quite a queue waiting to use the toaster. The main niggle was that the jam and marmalade were in large open bowls, into which people were putting their own knives, spoons etc which was not very hygienic.
The hotel is just outside Stratford and it is only a 2 minute drive into town. The hotel has a swimming pool which although we did not use looked nice.
We both really enjoyed our stay here and the niggles I pointed out were the only real faults we noticed.
For what we paid (£123 for two nights b&b) we were very pleased with the hotel and would return in the future.

We wanted a night away and a hotel with a pool and a spa treatment as both of us were tired and in need of a pick me up.
Always one to look for a good deal the hotel which we found online was on offer for 144 for a dinner bed and breakfast deal in a Q star room....oh sounded alright and reviews were fine.
We have also been to Statford before and were very taken with all of it. so we booked it and asked for a quiet room and was assured that we were looking out only onto grass...

After our 2 plus hour drive we arrived..not the most attractive of buildings but hoped things were better inside as the pictures online looked smart and modern.

Nice friendly girls on reception and went for a swim as our room wasnt ready. The spa area and pool including the sauna and steam room were "cramped" so not really a great spa but was ok for a nice swim.

When we eventually got to our room we were both underwhelmed...a dark room with a basic bathroom. There was certainly nothing to wow over apart from the large flat screen and the sky box.
The complimemtary fridge with the small bottles of wine, beer, and water was a nice touch but we felt we paid for that in the price.

Dinner in the evening was dissapointing...people sitting there in their jeans and trainers im just glad i didnt wear the dress i took i would of looked way out of place.
the food wasnt anything great just ok but the restarant was busy so that was proberley why it took 40 mins to get our main course !!!

We felt like we were in a premier inn in our room and didnt get that special night away feeling.
Also we looked out over the car park with people coming and going. On asking for a better situated room i was told all the Qstar rooms faced the car park. You would think if these rooms were the more expensive they would have a nicer outlook ??
Breakfast was chaotic with children screaming and food running out. We were glad to book out and enjoy our walk around stratford.

If we ever visit again i think we will look abit more extensively for somewhere much nicer.

Stayed here many many times with work. Staff are always warm and welcoming. Rooms spotless and restaurant not intimidating for a female eating alone. Pool is always lovely to use after a day at work. Away from main town so nice and quiet but easy to get into Stratford. Highly recommend
