“i feel a bit guilty but........”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2011

i do feel a bit guilty for this review but i feel i have to so that all the trip advisor members get a proper balanced view.we stayed here as we were getting married in stratford and with lots of family coming i wanted somewhere nice to stay, best on trip advisor and looking lovely on the pictures so this hotel got the vote.i am really glad we stayed here but i would certainly like to balance it out and give a few negatives as there were a few.
firstly,we had a superior room which was exactly what it said but as we had family staying i can assure you that not all rooms are fantastic.the showers in some of the double rooms were hopeless and even with some of our skinny frames very hard to get a decent shower in.then i will move on to the major gripe, breakfast.on our first morning it was just the 2 of us but the manager who was doing all the serving reminded me of manuel from faulty towers.it seemed like he forgot more than he remembered and then to top it off i got a slice of mouldy toast which i carefully hid so not to cause a scene which i wanted to avoid since all the families were coming down that day.the breakfast itself was not too bad but we do like to have toast and it seemed to be very slow in coming even when there was only us in the dining room but that got worse when there was all of us there.scrambled eggs which were just about inedible.
in our room which was lovely there was just little details which normally dont bother me but on this occasion they did,all the sealant around the bath had come away leaving a large gap where water will just run down will cause some smells very soon, cracked tiles and as for the noise from the fans, this just seemed to be non stop through the night.like i say small details but i have been to some hotels that have terrible reviews for things such as this and i feel its only fair to mention these things in this case.
we wont be going back to stratford limes, not because it is a bad hotel, just because its too far out of town and the service from pretty much 1 member of staff was lacklustre, everyone else we encountered were fine and helpful and friendly.also on our leaving day he seemed to be confused about which rooms we were in,which confused us since he was trying to say we had 1 room more than we actually did.
as the title says i feel a bit guity but it needed to be said.

Never feel guilty leaving an honest review, especially if it helps potential guests make an informed decision on a product. We would like to thank all guests who have taken the time to leave their honest and balanced reviews, we encourage guests to leave their feedback good or bad.
There are however a few points on this review we would like to clarify to enable readers to gain a fair overview of what the hotel offers.
The showers fitted in the standard rooms are a standard 800mmx 800mm tray, and guests have not passed comment on the size to date, the standard room rate does however reflect this fact.
Concerning breakfast, we offer a freshly cooked breakfast served to the table using quality products & meat from the butchers, if we had served mouldy toast or inedible eggs we would have liked to have known at the time as this is unacceptable. Should this have been the case we could have taken matters further with the bread manufacturers, as on the morning in question we had served 18 breakfasts prior to the late breakfast in question and know the bread was delivered and opened the same morning.
Being a new hotel we are keen to keep ahead of any maintenance issues and as such we encourage guests to leave comments on survey cards left in every room, we will be looking into the items listed by yourselves directly.
We would encourage all larger parties especially “Wedding parties” to visit the hotel prior to making any reservations, therefore accessing suitability for any such event. It would be fair to say we are a 1.5miles from the town centre, therefore it would be apparent on this occasion perhaps one of the new larger hotels such as Travel Lodge or Premier Inn would have been more suited to your requirements.
We hope the minor items listed have not marred your special occasion we would like to wish you both all the best for the future.

This small hotel is conveniently located for Stratford upon Avon but outside the town itself. The suite we had was very well decorated and the bathroom was well appointed. Our room had a small kitchen which would be excellent for a longer stay. The whole hotel is fresh and appealing. There is a lovely terrace which is ideal to have a drink in good weather. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was also great. Excellent value for money. A place to go back to.

A lovely quiet modern hotel, offering room and breakfast very reasonable in price and situated just outside Stratford on Avon. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are a good size and super clean. The hotel has a small bar and good sized seating area outside. The hotel is five minutes by car from Stratford on Avon, or if you would rather use the bus the stop is just outside the hotel. I stayed for three nights and really enjoyed my stay. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in the Stratford upon Avon area.

The hotel has been recently refurbished (9 mths or so) and the quality of the whole place is of a very high standard. From the outside area thru to the rooms, bar, hallways and dining room are immaculate and well presented. The beds are so comfortable and stayed in the room overlooking the main road with the window open and was not disturbed by traffic noise.
The couple who run this hotel are very helpful and friendly.
It is about a 20 minute walk (but pleasant and one straight road) into the centre of Stratford upon Avon and (aprox £4 in a taxi back).
We would definately return and recommend this hotel in the future

A fantastically well maintained hotel representing good value for money. The service was friendly, the room was bright, spacious and quiet. By car its really close (five minutes) to the RSC car parks. (Choose the one opposite the Butterfly Farm, and corss over the predestrian bridge - its less than five minutes and a lovely scenic walk.) We've stayed in a lot of hotels in the centre of Stratford, and much prefer this one!

Having stayed at many hotels and B&Bs in Stratford over the last 20 years or so, this is one of the very few we would return to. Having been open only 9 months or so, the whole feel of the place is fresh, clean and new.

We were made very welcome by Lee, and our room was beautifully decorated, and very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, and we also enjoyed the evening meal we shared there with family.

The hotel is on a main road, but our bedroom faced the rear and was quiet. Although the address of the hotel is Stratford-upon-Avon, if you're wanting to be close to the centre of the town you should be aware that the shops and theatre are a short drive, or 20-30 minute walk, away. (The car parks in Stratford get quite busy! One of the most reasonably priced places to park is the marina beside the Holiday Inn.)

Our stay at the Stratford Limes cost just a bit more than a B&B, but we'll most definitely book there again.

Room Tip: Our superior room had a sitting room and bedroom, two televisions, lovely decor, and faced away from...

I've been staying at the Limes for the past three months and over the last 5 years have stayed in other Hotels in Stratford. Therefore I feel qualified to provide an independent review on the Hotel.

Over the last three months the staff at the Hotel have met my every need. All of the usual stuff was done to a high standard plus extras. Whenever I've asked for something it was done with pleasure. Some Hotels may go the extra mile but you feel as though you're putting them out asking them to do it but it's service with a smile at the Limes. With the Limes being a smaller Hotel there is a sense of family atmosphere and personal attentiveness.
