Stratford Limes Hotel
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 21 September 2013

We were greeted warmly and given good advice for a local pub for dinner. We were driving so the fact that it was outside of downtown Stratford was not an issue, but walkers might find otherwise. Breakfast was excellent with cereals, fruit, juice, etc. by buffet and eggs, bacon etc. cooked to order. room was very clean and good sized. Very comfortable beds. Overall this is a very nice place!

I booked to stay at the Stratford Limes Hotel mainly because of the great reviews I had seen and I also wanted to be a little further out of Stratford but within walking distance. I really was not disappointed. A very warm welcome was given by Lorna, Lee and Jimmy who were also very helpful and professional. I was upgraded to a larger room, which was both immaculate and very comfortable. Loved my stay here and the breakfast definitely lived up to expectations. Sad to leave both here and Stratford a truly magical place to visit. Thanks to all, Annmarie

We have just returned from our short (unfortunately) stay at the Stratford limes Hotel and have nothing but good comments for a first class establishment. We stayed on a visit which included a night at the RSC and a follow-up "exploration" of Stratford and its surroundings. Having used this gem of a place as our base we would certainly say, quite simply, that if you were looking for a friendly, well-run, comfortable, clean hotel with efficient staff and all the facilities you should realistically expect then you would need to search long and hard to better the Stratford Limes.

The hosts and staff were very friendly, warm as well as efficient in their work. Lorna was very friendly, informative and helpful - even giving us a completely unexpected lift into town one morning which was very kind of her. We had read previous reviews about the rooms at the front being a little noisier than the rear ones, but we encountered no real problem from road traffic at all in our room (number 5) which was facing the road. The road (albeit a main one into town) was fairly quiet after 9pm, with little traffic at all after 11pm, so do not worry about any road noise issues or subsequent sleep loss from rooms to the front of the building.

The hotel itself was very clean (spotless) and the room facilities (Wi-Fi, TV/DVD, phone, toiletries, trouser-press, tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water etc.) were all one could want. The room was warm, but not too warm (heating adjustable) and the towels clean and soft - just right! The bed was big and comfy, and the breakfast deliciously good - more than enough, in choice and quantity, to get you through the morning.

We ate in Stratford on one night, early before our theatre trip, with a meal at The Opposition Bistro - what an absolutely fabulous meal!! We ate at Connolly's tapas restaurant on the second night, just a two minute walk from the hotel - again, a delicious meal served by friendly staff in terrific surroundings.

Incidentally, our theatre trip to the RSC was to watch their performance of Hamlet - to which I would simply say GO! It was fantastic!

We would totally recommend the Stratford limes, and when we visit Stratford again, there's only one place we'll stay.

(PS, Thanks for the little pots...)

We stayed for one night and cannot fault the hotel in any aspect. The staff member who was at the reception area when we arrived couldn't have been more helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and was very clean. The idea of putting details of local pubs, restaurants etc in the room was appreciated and helpful.Breakfast was nicely cooked with ample portions. Our room was located at the front of the hotel which is situated on a main road and we never heard any traffic noise all night. The hotel is situated a five minute walk from an Indian restaurant called "Aladdins" which like the hotel is a class act.The local pub "The Crown" was busy but getting served wasn't a problem and the staff there deserve credit for great service. There was even a bingo session held in the back of the pub !

Room Tip: As mentioned our room was at the front of the hotel which is on a main road. There wasn't any roa...

I stayed here recently for one night and I cannot fault the hotel, the service or the location.

Upon arrival the guy on check in (Lee, I believe!) was incredibly helpful and cheery, to our surprise our room had been upgraded for free, which was nice as it was my birthday!

The room was absoloutly beautiful, despite our room being in the car park we didn't hear a soul coming in and out of the building.

The decor is lovely, the bed was one of the comfiest (and biggest) I've ever slept in. The bathroom was very nice, the shower was amazing.

There was nice touches to the room, a bottle of water for example - small but nice touches to our stay. Also in the room was a list of local restaurants along with their menu's! I thought this was a really great idea and helped me have a look at the menu of the Indian we had booked into that night before I even arrived. (Aladdins - definitely worth a visit too! A 5 minute walk from the hotel)

The breakfast in the morning was lovely, the only negative thing I can say is there was black pepper on my tomato, I absoloutly despise black pepper so it would have been nice to have had a choice with the seasoning, however for the whole experience if that is all I have to worry about - who cares!!!

I am very impressed with the whole experience and I'd definitely go back again!! Thank you!

We booked the Stratford Limes Hotel mainly due to its excellent Trip Advisor reviews, and was not disappointed. Staff, Hotel, Room & Food all to a very high standard, Tiddington is a lovely village with good pub & restaurants all within easy walking distance.
