Premier Inn Stratford Upon Avon Central Hotel
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 10 June 2013

This premier Inn was in a great location, staff were excellent friendly and helpful as usual.

No parking at the hotel so we went on the train.

Typically easy check in and comfortable bed.

We had a room on the third floor, 303, which only had a high rooftop window with a blind.

The room was very hot when the sun was out, the window controls were on the wall and had
quite annoying and time consuming controls ( we had opened the window for some air but the bed got very wet when we had a sudden shower during the time it took to shut the window.)

A long way to the rooms from the entrance, three flights of stairs or a very slow lift just to reception.

I would probably say at the new Premier about a mile away if in Stratford again.

Situated beside the town central and very close to the river. Quite possibly converted from an office block, the reception is up a couple of flights of stairs (there is a lift too). There is very limited parking, although there are a couple of drop off bays in the pub car park opposite. We parked in a nearby council multi storey for £6 (18 hours over a weekend). The room wasn't big, but the decor was fresh. Despite being full, the self check-in terminals meant no delay on arrival and it was a quiet nights sleep. At £85 a night, the plus is not having a minimum two-night stay policy over a weekend as per many of the local guesthouses.

Stayed here for a night while at a friend's wedding. Perfect location for exploring Stratford-upon-Avon as has a great location right by the RSC Theatre. Only paid £35 by booking online in advance via the website.

The hotel doesn't have parking (except for a 20 minute unloading area at the pub across the road), so we parked at the Marina car park (5 mins from the hotel) for a bargain £8 which would have covered us for 48 hours if we'd have needed it for that long.

Rooms were clean, comfortable, and have everything you need (shower gel in bathroom, tea and coffee in room, and a comfortable bed). Only thing that stopped an Excellent rating is the cleaner knocking on the door at 9am to see if we were out yet (despite saying they give a generous check out time of 12 noon). Pity, as this woke us up after a late night.

TIP: The hotel is a bit of a maze inside, If you're on the 2nd floor as we were, don't follow the signs from reception, go back to the main stairwell and go up that flight of stairs - much quicker! Also, the lift is S L O W... Take the stairs unless you really need to use the lift.

Room Tip: Book online in advance

Agree with the other reviews perfect location lovely and clean, a good nights sleep, would recommend for a stay in Stratford-upon-avon. Although it has no car park we used the one called bridgefoot which is only 4 minute walk away.

I will highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Stratford Upon Avon to stay in the Premier Inn. The hotel is located within a short walk (just across the road really) from the canal and town centre. We could walk to Shakespeare's birth house. Very convenient for food as there were pubs and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself had a restaurant which was reasonably priced. We paid £62 for a family room, and we all got a good night sleep. The room didn't have a view but we certainly didn't mind as all we had to do was come down from the hotel to get a beautiful view. The breakfast deal was excellent as kids under 16 ate free!

This experience will make me look out for Premier Inn whenever we travel in the UK. Thank you, Paul, for excellent service =)

Straight after making my booking an email showing the car parks and there prices around the hotel was sent to me which was great. On arrival we were met at reception by Paul who was great he quickly booked us in and added the meal deal to our stay explaining it was and italian menu and asked if id got the car parking email and was it helpful. On arriving to our room it was lovely and clean everything as it should be, we did overlook the M & S but could also see the canal and bridges but we got no disturbance from traffic and noise and all three of us enjoyed a good nights sleep. The evening meal was delightful and cooked beautifully the table service by Paul was yet again great. In the morning the breakfast was great ,couldn't fault the place at all. Excellent location and we will certainly use this hotel again on return to Stratford.

the room was on the 3rd flor and had no windows or view of Stratford, when was very disappointing. Also car parking costs 4 pounds extra and is quite some distance from the hotel. But the room was nice, clean and modern and the hotel kept up to a good standard.
