This B&B was a disappointment. We were hoping for charming etc (based on the other reviews), but our room was run-down and didn't feel clean.

We were impressed with the Victoria Spa Lodge as soon as we arrived - the beautiful exterior of the building is ehanced by the well mainted gardens and numerous flowers in pots and planters - someone must work very hard to keep them looking that good! The inside of the building is just as impressive as the outside with a lovely tiled entrance hall and susbstantial dining room. We stayed in room 5 - an excellent sized room with a fireplace, wonderful high ceiling and lots of light from the big window. The ensuite was also a very good size. Breakfast was delicious - with a good choice of fruit and cereals and a selction of hot dishes available to order, I can reccomend the scrambled eggs - lovely and buttery! The Victoria Spa Lodge is just outisde the centre of Stratford - but it is a very pleasant walk to the centre down the canal. It took my husband and I less than half an hour and that included plenty of stops to look at boats and ducks!

We stayed two nights at the Victoria Spa as part of our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay. The welcome we received was friendly, the room was spotless and the location provided the opportunity for a lovely stroll along the canal to the town. The building is stunning and was obviously once a very impressive property. The dining room was quite a spectacular sight and had hints of its former glory. Breakfast was of a good standard and there was a range of foods on offer. Yes, the decor is somewhat dated - the artificial flowers were tired looking and I felt the duvet cover had seen better days (in the 80s) but you stay in a BnB not to have your own tastes mimicked but rather to have a troublefree, value for money stay which we received. That said, if the spa were to receive an upgrading such as the removal of the old carpets it would be a really fantastic place. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean and pleasant stay.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night. The owner was very helpful and full of stories. Very lovely English Gentleman. Breakfast was great with a lot of choice and a lovely cooked english breakfast which you were encouraged to partake of. It was close enough to the town to walk to along the canal. Took about 30 minutes but was interesting walk along the canal. Lots of English memorabilia around the hotel.
