“warm and Welcoming”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

Greeted with a big smile by Dreen the owner of this lovely Victorian house. It was a very relaxed stay, as the owners let you come and go as you please and you can have brekfast when you choose.
The room had everything we needed, tea and coffee and even biscuits put out every day. The rooms are in the style of the house so if you like contempary, clean lines and white, this probably won't be for you.
Brekfast was lovely. Choice of full English and a few other hot options and cereals, fresh fruit, juice and plenty of toast, you won't go hungry!
It was Dreens Birthday whilst we were there and we were invited to join her, Paul and family and friends for a drink, what a lovely group of people.
We arrived as strangers but left as friends bordering on family!
Thank you Dreen And Paul for a lovely stay :)

An extremely comfortable, warm, quiet and beautiful room. We had the rose room. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Our hosts were friendly and hospitable. We loved our two day stay here.

We were spending only one night in Stratford as a 70th birthday treat for me, to see Bring up the Bodies at the Swan Theatre. We wanted something a bit special without breaking the bank and we certainly found it. A beautiful historic building, clearly much loved, furnished and decorated in appropriate style. Our room was lovely, not very large but with all conveniences and a great view over the canal and open fields. Bed a bit firm for my arthritic joints but 'normal' people would not have a problem. You can leave your car there and walk along the canal into town or catch the very frequent bus service. The welcome and the breakfast were all you could wish for.

We stayed here overnight on a birthday trip to visit Stratford's automata and magic museums. It can be very hard to find a hotel room for a family of 5 that is both spacious, pleasant AND affordable and this was all three. En suite shower room was very handy. We ordered pizza delivery (The Noisy Tomato? The Cheeky Pepper?) to eat in our room. The owner was extremely helpful, even found my husband a beer when he snuck downstairs to escape from the rest of us! Breakfast lovely, all went swimmingly.
The location really was great as we could jump on the park&ride bus into town but could easily have walked back along the canal.
Only downside is the decor is a little bit 80s Victoriana but all in good nick.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our England stay and found the lodgings and the hostess to be wonderful. Dreen is the most gracious hostess and made us feel like part of the family. Breakfast in her elegant dining room beautifully appointed with family heirlooms was lovely and the food, excellent. She was also most helpful with things to do during our short visit. The location is an easy bus ride into Stratford-upon-Avon and close to the Cotswolds and Warwick castle. It's a beautiful part of England - don't miss the area and pick Victoria's own hotel to stay!

We recently spent two nights here in the family room and found it to be a great location for our day trips to attractions in the Cotswolds. The rooms are clean and the hostess is gracious, providing a wonderful English breakfast in a Victorian setting. We were referred here by the information center in Warwick and found it to be a great value for the room and location.

We had an overnight stay at the Victoria Spa Lodge with some friends as part of a quick weekend break to Stratford Upon Avon. We found it very easy to find using the cars sat nav and were greeted on arrival by the owner.

The outside is currently undergoing some renovations to part of the old house which isn't part of the B+B this is unsightly from the front but not a problem with regard to the running of the B+B.

As mentioned by other reviewers the décor isn't modern and if you are looking for rooms with the latest in high tech this isn't the place for you. But we found it to immaculately clean which is actually more important to us than the colour of the bedspread!

We took a walk along the tow path (which runs directly behind the B+B) into the town and found it to be a very pleasant 20 minute walk. A cab back later that night cost us approx. £8.00.

Breakfast had a short window 8am-9am (on a Sunday) which again may not suit everyone. We found the breakfast to be really nice with plenty of choice.
