the applegarth was very close to all the local amenities but it was also very close to a busy noisy junction.
we were there when it was very hot so we had the windows open day and night lots of drunken passers-by and local traffic.
décor clean but dated staff friendly.
we had a leak in our shower which was apparently coming through the downstairs room.
we went out for dinner and by the time we arrived back it had been sealed and fully repaired without a fuss.
own car park was very private and a good size .
.was a pleasant stay and only a short walk to the town centre.

Room Tip: for a quiet stay ask for a room over looking the car park which is at the back of the house away fr...

Location is good, but disappointed on cleanliness and decor.
We stayed for 5 nights here and had asked for a quiet room. Which it wasnt as you had all the traffic going out of Stratford as it it is a ring road. Made tea first morning in our room to find the milk was off out of date. Greeting guest could be improved on as it was rather brisque, not exactly welcoming. And a few days later was served milk in a jug which was off too. Not good. When I said about this I was informed the weather had been warm but the milk in the jug was cold so must have come from the fridge so was it out of date too.Bathroom and towels only changed twice and room never even saw a hoover or a duster. Bedding not changed either. Paint work awful, window ledge split and peeling, also double glazing has gone in largest window so it look frosted and dirty.Twin beds squeezed into a small room. The breakfast menu online said Meat Platter,( if not webside should be update as it is very misleading) which there was not and if the fruit cocktail went quickly there was none to replace it. Cooked breakfast ok but could be better. Wouldn't stay again. Ok for a stop over for 1 or 2 nights but no longer.

Room Tip: ROOM 3 where at front is quiet compared to our room at the back and no stairs

We have just got back from staying at The Applegarth. It is in a great location with the canal, river and town centre within a few mins walk. The rooms are clean and have everything you need, even extra pillows in the wardrobe, bed was really comfortable. We were in a double room number 16 on the top floor, nice and spacious and so was the bathroom. Staff polite and helpful nothing to much trouble. Free car park and you can leave your car there until 12pm on day of departure. Thank you for a great stay.

Barely 100 yards from the cana;l bridge in the centre of town and with its own car parking this was always on the front foot. Our room wasn't terribly large but we didn't need large. The room overlooked the road which promised noise but we are townies so didn't notice if there was noise or not. The breakfasts were very good, freshly cooked. Met our expectations

We spent one night in Applegarth on our way through to London. First impressions were very good. A very warm welcome by a very nice woman, who showed us up to the room and offered to get help for our bags. The first set of stairs are very narrow and tight to climb, but subsequent stairs to the top floor were better. The floor was a bit noisy underfoot, so we were mindful that people below might hear too. The real negative was the shower system. Very sensitive temperature settings, from scalding to ice cold in seconds. Breakfast was included and was nice - continental and full English breakfast. Staff were very nice and attentive. The beds were generous and comfortable. Everything was very clean and cosy. Tea and coffee provided, etc. We didn't find the street noise too intrusive as our windows faced the car park. Good and private parking facility for our big van. The room as a very generous size - top floor end of the hall, one queen bed three singles. Spacious bathroom and cupboards. Great TV. Free wifi, even though the signal wasn't the best on top floor. Overall, good value and very friendly staff.

I can't vouch for whether this establishment is good or bad. I booked 3 rooms for two nights three months in advance of the date. A week before I received a phone call to say they had double booked my rooms. And they were not prepared to cancel the other people they had booked me against. So I had to find somewhere else. Double check your booking.

We stayed here for one night, and it was a very good location for walking around Stratford-upon-Avon. The rooms are small, but clean. The breakfast was good, with fruit, cereal, and yogurt, in addition to the full English breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly.
