“Best B&B in Stratford!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2012

Over the 20 years visiting the RSC we have stayed at a number of B&Bs in Stratford, but this is undoubtedly the best. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Peter and Ruth are such friendly, sociable and welcoming hosts, who can't do enough for you. They are always willing to offer invaluable advice about the town and its facilities. The accommodation is impeccable, spotlessly clean, and there is a real attention to detail. Peter's delicious breakfasts are unbeatable and you can order exactly what you would like. Even when they are busy Ruth and Peter still manage to find the time to chat to guests and take a genuine interest in them. The location is excellent, overlooking a park, and only five minutes walk from the town/RSC theatres and has parking facilities; the pretty flowers in the front garden add to its appeal. Peter and Ruth have always helped to make our stay in Stratford a thoroughly enjoyable one. We can highly recommend this wonderful guest house to anyone visiting Stratford. Jackie and Bill Pearson,Saddleworth.

Clean room with good amenities. Peter was incredibly nice and was eageer to help us choose the best places for us to see in our limited time. The breakfast was so tasty and abundant it will keep you full for your siteseeing and you difinitely get more than your money's worth! Would recommend it to anyone going to stratford since it is close to centre without feeling too congested.

Everything was as we remembered on our last visit two years ago. Peter and Ruth looked
after us very well and our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed
our delicious breakfasts. Parking space at rear of building. The town is a minute away across
the park. Lots of eating places and coffee shops. The riverside is lovely plenty to see and the
town is spread out with a good selection of shops. Our weather wasn't that good but we still
enjoyed our weekend break. We would recommend Ambleside anytime.

Room Tip: Pick up a brochure from tourist office and pick out a reasonable B and B within walking distance fr...

Comfortable, clean, warm B&B with delicious breakfast in central location in Stratford upon Avon and close to the train station.
Very accommodating and flexible hosts who waited up for me till 11pm when the train was terminated at Gerrard's Cross due to a broken down train and then became a road trip!
Peter also made an excellent recommendation for a local Thai restaurant.
High recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at Ambleside. As others have said the rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy. As for parking, we had rented an Audi that needed a bit more room than the slot allotted for us. Peter allowed us to park in front of his car which gave us the room we needed. We enjoyed our breakfasts immensely. And, the location is wonderful for walking about the city. Peter and Ruth gave us good suggestions on places to see and things to do, particularly important as we did not have the best weather.

Extremely clean and comfortable, well-equipped rooms, good breakfast, b and b run with military-style precision.
However the inflexible approach of the hosts detracted from what should have been an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
The host was overzealous to the point of rudeness about the parking arrangements.
The latest time for breakfast is 8.45, but because other guests had requested this time, a curt note was left out in the hall, stating, "No more orders for 8.45"
Had the hosts been more flexible they might have realised that people might prefer a slightly later time for breakfast, especially on a Sunday and tried to accommodate their guests' wishes better.
Unfortunately one of our party suffered a bereavement and had to leave suddenly, one night earlier than she had planned. While we understood it would not have been possible to relet her room at such short notice, a small refund to reflect her not requiring breakfast would have been reasonable and a gesture of good will. We were told in no uncertain terms there would be no reduction.
It was disappointing that such pristine accommodation was not matched by the same standard of customer care.
Also, beware of the cancellation policy which requires two weeks' notice.
