Billesley Manor Hotel

This was a girly weekend, our only intention was to relax, eat lots and let the cares of everyday life fade away!!

The Hotel: It was a beautiful building, which was decorated to a high standard, very clean and in a perfect location.

The Room: We had a Deluxe Twin which was very modern and beautifully decorated. It was very clean with bathrobe and slippers.

The Spa: We were disappointed to find they were fully book, so really we lost out on the Spa part of the weekend. The leisure facilities were very good.

The Food: I had a 3 course breakfast (yum yum) on the first morning, very nice too. The breakfast ranged from croissants to cereal, meats and cheeses to a full English.

My only negatives for the hotel were the staff, some were pleasant enough but we did come across a few who acted like they didn't want to be there. In particular the receptionist who didn't do a good job of greeting us when we checked in...more of a formal exchange, not a good first impression. Secondly when calling down to reception for request, these were never addressed. Lastly on our first night we got woken up at 12am to the sound of bottle bins being emptied, this was done a few times!!! Surely a 4 star hotel's reputation is not being ruined by the staff being inconsiderate at night.

Overall a fantastic break, great food but the hotel need to invest in staff training in customer service.

Thank you for your detailed review of Billesley Manor, I am pleased that overall you enjoyed your experience. I am disappointed that you did not find the team to be friendly and efficient, the hotel ordinarily gets the best comments about the team. You comments have been passed on and our guest service training will continue. Kind regards

We stayed in a deluxe double room overlooking the gardens and was very comfortable.
The restaurant staff were excellent and the choice of food was very good as I require a gluten free diet. The overall appearance of the hotel was excellent however, the fitness area small but the swimming pool and changing area was very good. I will be returning to his hotel in the near future.

Room Tip: No lift if there is a problem stairs request a ground floor room facing the gardens.

We enjoyed an excellent weekend here, as a group of 6 celebrating a friend's 50th. We stayed in the superior rooms which were spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, a few signs of ageing but nothing to really detract from a lovely stay. The food was first class, don't miss out on the desserts, the white chocolate parfait was sublime! The staff were all very welcoming, and accommodating of our special requests. Special mention to Ceri in the spa who had a great gift of making you feel very special, and totally pampered, i only wish I was close enough to book a facial with her ever week! This was not our first choice hotel, we were upgraded after a hiccup with the booking, but were very glad in the end as we had a really special stay here. I am definitely looking to book again to bring another group of friends! The only very small negative is the unsightly pond at the front of the hotel, hopefully on the plans to renovate soon as it spoils the otherwise perfect setting! We used the park and ride to visit Stratford on a busy Bank Holiday, much easier than trying to find parking in the centre.

Thank you for your comments, yes there are plans to fix the pond. The cold winter resulted in a large crack forming so it needs to be completely relined. I am pleased you enjoyed the upgrade and I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best regards

Great as usual, breakfast was wonderful, Spa was fantastic, Weather was rubbish but at this hotel
this is immaterial a wonderful afternoon spent swimming using the steam room or sauna what more could you ask for. There are free bikes to ride if this takes your fancy or go for a game of tennis.
Great Great Great. Staff were helpful and pleasant with a happy smile and greeting on every occasion.

Room Tip: Keep away from the top floor as the water pressure is low. They have installed pumps to get the wate...

I stayed over night as a result of a lunch time to lunch time meeting. Had a room in one of the barns. Room was a nice size with a smaller bedroom down a couple of steps. The bathroom was tired and again down a couple of steps. Luch on arrival OK . Dinner very disappionted order a special meal basically a plain piece of salmon with Vegatble. The fish game out coverd in pepper . It was sent back . Whislt everyone else was eating the meal was returned with new vegatbles but you hguessed it the same piece of salmon. By the time I managed to get hold of the staff everyone else had finished their mains and I was awaiting dessert. Breakfast they ran out of kippers and Haddock so very limited choice. Lunch the pork was very touch a bit over cooked. Nice property and grounds but the food is very very average . Following morning, I know the cleaners need to hoover but 730 it s a little early.

Thank you for your comments regarding the mistake made when your plain Salmon dish was seasoned with pepper. I am sorry that this and the rest of our catering was not to your taste, Billesley Manor does pride itself on the great food offered and most of the time our feedback reflects this. I will pass on your comments to the team and improvements will be made where necessary. Please accept my apologies for any disappointment caused. Kind regards

A stunning old hotel building and grounds, with a warm and cosy feel to it. The staff were well trained, efficient and friendly. Despite being there at the same time as a large wedding, it had no impact on us, unlike many other hotels where you feel overrun when your visit coincides with a wedding. The breakfast is served to you, a rare service in UK hotels these days. No sad dried out eggs here, they are cooked to order. Ideal if you want a hotel with easy access to Stratford and do not wish to stay in the town. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Our room was ain the main building ina wing furthest away from reception and main areas and had the...

We stayed for two nights. We had room 24 which was right opposit the spa and pool. Which was great for us as we had the two night spa package. The room was lovely, very spacious with a view of the gardens. The only downside we found was the menu although really nice was the same for both nights and there wasn't enough choice, so we ended up having the same starter and mains both nights. Which was a shame. Would of liked something with chicken or pasta on the menu. Overall though we had a great time and the staff were really polite and helpfull. We would recomend to anyone.

Thank you for your review, I am sorry that you did not find our Table D'hote and A La Carte menus offered you enough choice to dine for 2 nights in the Restaurant. Special requests can be honoured so next time if there is something you fancy, just ask and we will see how close we can get to delivering this to your table.
Best regards
