Beautiful hotel! The rooms and restaurant are gorgeous and we had a great night’s sleep. The room we stayed in had an amazing bathtub, and I loved the oldschool telephone! We ate at the restaurant and the staff were all very friendly. They mentioned they’d had a few teething problems when the restaurant first opened but we didn’t come across any. The food was delicious - we shall definitely be coming again!

With two young children, it's hard to find a hotel that has enough space to accommodate 4 in a room, however, the White Swan provided room to spare. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had a lovely and very reasonably priced dinner in the evening - and breakfast was to a great standard.
We'll definitely be returning....

As soon as we arrived at the White Swan the staff were immediately friendly and attentive. The new decor is truly fantastic and a credit the whoever designed the interior. The location is excellent with everything on your doorstop. The room was first class with attention to detail and some nice touches like fresh milk and water in the fridge. The room itself was a relaxing place to spend time and again the decor was extremely well done with nice cushions to add the attention to detail. The staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. A definite must stay hotel.
We would definetly recommend this hotel to our family and friends

My family booked the White Swan for a one night stay as an on route break. We arrived to a newly refurbished hotel, a friendly welcome and helpful staff who escorted us too our room, as our 7mths daughter does not travel light.
Our room decor was beautiful and a travel cot all set up waiting for us, it was a nice touch.( pass experience with different hotels- travel cots have been an issue).
There were some issues eg- no where to hang robes, shower had no soap tray and only one of each can of drink in fridge but these were no major problem.
We choose to eat in the restaurant for easy, there was a small but varied menu which i did comment on and was informed it was still in developmental stage, however the selections of wine was substantial and worth a look. We found the service and food of good standard- we had the pushchair with us so we were given a good table with space around us, again this was very thoughtful. We also had breakfast in the hotel and again received the same good service.
All in all our daughter has the last say, as she choose this to be the place she first slept through the night- so we will defiantly be returning!!

I was booked at the White Swan by my client in late April, 2012, for business.

My freshly-refurbished room was spotlessly clean, but a bit awkward in layout. There was no place to put towels in the bathroom, so they were left on the bed. There was no place to put soap, so I had to leave it on the shower floor. The fridge in the bureau heated all of my clothes... little things like that. The bed was comfortable, but the desk was a bit small for my laptop and paperwork -- the power outlets and Internet access were good.

I did eat in the restaurant. While the servers were friendly, service was really slow. Really slow.

Overall, the refurbishing seems to have done the historic hotel well... but there are a few missteps in the rooms and the staff needs a bit more training.

Room Tip: Some of my coworkers had rooms that were prone to noise from the water pipes -- ask at the front des...

Just got back from a bank holiday stay at The White Swan Stratford uopn Avon it was our first stay here but not in a fullers ales property that was one of our reasons for booking because they are really nice. The Swan has only just opened after a re-fit and it is the lovely. The location is excellent right in the market square everthing is only a couple of minutes walk away. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every minute. We were put in room 110 which on first entering i found rather small there was only a small gap between the bed and the wall so made getting round the room a struggle, it wasnt too bad for me as i am small but someone of a larger size would struggle, when i opened the window we overlooked what i first thought was a heating system which was quite noisy with the window open, but i later think that it was maybe some thing to do with the kitchens as it went off about midnight but came back on in the morning, if i am honest it didnt bother us as there was a chill in the air so we closed the windows but in the summer and for someone who likes to sleep with the window open they could be woken when it kicks in again first thing in the morning. The decor of the room was lovely with a mural of a lady and a swan across one wall, there was plenty of space for clothes although no drawers. Tea and coffee making facilities,tv, a ironing board and iron and a hairdryer there was also a small mini fridge with complimentry water and small cans of juice and pop.One thing that was lacking was a full length mirror, which us ladies do like to have. Even though i would have liked the room to be a little larger it didnt ruin our stay, that was sorted once i walked in the bathroom...wow...it was large and spacious with the most amazing rain shower...once i was in it, my husband struggled to get me out it was great. The downstairs bar area and restaurant was nicely done with the right amount of tables and comfy sofas, the decor was in keeping with Stratford and had quotes and pictures of shakespear on the walls, the background music was just at the right level for talking. The food was very nice but i have asked if they could look at maybe having a chicken option on the main menu, they did have one on the set menu but i couldnt have it as it all had to go through on the till as the set menu and i wasnt in the mood for a two or three course meal, the only other options were fish and chips and various dishes with lamb or beef...i think fullers need to just look at the menu again as even though i eat red meat, a lot of people dont so there options are limited. I finally had the fish and chips which was very nice. Breakfast was just as good, with lots to choose from. All the staff were really nice, and helpful We would definitly stay here again.

This hotel has had a fortune spent on it and everything has been refurbished to a high standard - the position is excellent and the rooms modern and well appointed BUT......

The restuarant is a shambles with long delays, wrong and and forgotten food orders served (eventually) by staff with no direction or idea as to what to do. Both our dinner and breakfast were disasters and the general experience a very forgettable one (even one of the staff said this to us!!).

Find somewhere else to stay!
