Been to a few hotels over the years in this location

Alveston Manor
Shakespear
The Falcon

But have now found the hotel I will pick everytime I visit stratford upon avon

Everything from the booking in
to the rooms (other hotels rooms very tired but cannot be said of the swan)
The staff A+
And the whole experience A+

Imo It's a credit to the money and work put in has paid off

Parking in any City with as much appeal as Straftford can be difficult at times but the arrangements at The White Swan can't be faulted. Temporary parking in the NCP Car Park at the rear of the hotel is easy; book in, receive a chit from reception for a cheaper facility 100 metres away, drop off your luggage and off you go to a reserved space. Perhaps take a brolly if there is a chance of rain!?
The food is excellent, especially the breakfast. Forget about a traditional "Full English", go for the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for a welcome change. Wow! the best I've ever had. My compliments to the chef.
O.K. so it's not cheap but you get what you pay for and the rooms are spotlessly clean with an excellent selection of toiletries.

A simply fabulous hotel. My husband booked to celebrate my birthday. On arrival staff were all very pleasant and helpful and in our room was a lovely birthday cake and card from the hotel, which was a nice surprise. Room was spotless and comfortable. Would definitely visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: Grand room was very comfortable

Back again for another Sunday lunch since the magnificent refurbishment in 2011 and the food was every bit as good as we remembered, the surroundings as full of character as they have always been, and the whole place exuding a sense of history.

Have to say, though, that the welcome was pretty non-existent and the bar service frankly amateurish to start with, although it did improve somewhat during the meal.

This is a special place (particularly for Sue and me as we spent the first night of our honeymoon here 47 years ago) and it deserves the little touches that provide that sense of occasion. They were lacking this time, sorry. When you ask for a bottle of wine to go with your meal, you don't expect it simply to be slapped down unopened on the bar counter. At least I don't. There were a couple of other small, but annoying, mistakes which made me wonder if this was the Sunday morning after a too hectic Saturday night before.

I stayed at the Swan Hotel for one night over a weekend. The hotel is well situated in the centre of town with easy access to all the main shops etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were allocated room 120 which was a double deluxe situated at the back of the hotel. The room was modern and offered good in-room facilities (flat screen TV, wifi, coffee/tea, excellent shower and separate bath).

We also dined in the restaurant on the Saturday evening. Booking is highly recommended. The restaurant and bar ambience is excellent, the building has a lot of character and history. We opted for items from the three course menu. There is a good selection of ales and a good wine list.

The starters (Quail and Scallops) were excellent. The mains (pork belly, tenderloin pork) were also excellent. Unfortunately the deserts were a little disappointing however I do appreciate the concept, and what they are trying to do. I opted for Tiramisu which was interesting although lacked coffee flavour. Some sort of espresso shot to accompany the desert would be a good idea. My wife opted for raspberry mouse which I actually thought was pate when it arrived. It was still frozen so she could not eat it. All credit to the hotel, staff and chef, that they quickly apologised and deducted the desert cost from the bill. The service was exemplary so we will definitely return on this basis.

Breakfast was served from 8am to 11am in the bar. Good choice of hot food. Cold selection appeared a little limited in terms of fruit although this was a minor issue. I tend to like a bowl of fruit in the morning. The cooked breakfast was good.

Check-out was simple and again the staff were friendly and helpful.

We look forward to a repeat visit in the near future.

Room Tip: Choose a room near the back of the hotel for a quieter night

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this gorgeous hotel. All the staff we came into contact with where very pleasant always had a smile and a hello. The whole hotel was spotless and its in an excellent position, right in the centre of town. If i was to visit stratford upon Avon again i wouldn't even bother looking at another hotel as this one ticked all the right boxes for me.

This is without doubt the best redeveloped hotel and bar in the town.
Having known the property for a very long time the presentation of the building is entirely due to the foresight of the Directors of Fuller Smith and Turner.
The renovated bar is full of character, selling the very best Fuller's beer.
The restaurant is good, offering quality fare at relatively modest price.
The staff and management give great service, generally with a smile.
Go on - spoil yourself.....we do!
