Me and my husband was looking at reviews for places to eat in stratford upon avon, not impressed with most until we saw the white swan. I have always wanted to eat there and im very glad we did. The waiters were very friendly and nice. We ordered the two courses and it was lovely my husbands pork chop was the best he has ever had, big thanks to the chef, waiters and the lovely food and beverage manager. Will be back very soon cant wait.

Stayed in Hamlet Room which was beautiful and comfortable. Friendly reception - we followed advice to use hotel parking which is a couple of blocks away, however, the public lot adjoining the hotel is much closer and only £3 more. We also dined in the hotel - dinner was pretty good (not excellent) but the dining room provides a really nice atmosphere. Breakfast was in the same dining room and was excellent - only small complaint is that we could hear all of the employees talking and cleaning the bar taps all through breakfast which was a bit annoying. We will definitely return again.

Room Tip: Choose one of the original "theme" rooms.

Stayed a Wednesday night as part of a short break. Had Grand room, B&B and evening meal. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, our room was stunning and food and service fantastic. Beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Stayed in Warwick the following night and would have been happy to return to here instead. Thoroughly recommended

Room Tip: The grand rooms had lovely layout out with roll top baths, very nice

We stayed at the White Swan back in February and it was wonderful overall!
While booking the hotel, I add a note to highlight that we were celebrating a special occasion and when we arrived in the room, there was a big piece of cake waiting for us with a handwritten card which made the trip even more special as it was all a surprise for my partner! The bed was really comfortable and the bath tub in the middle of the bathroom is just amazing!!! We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food, the service and the atmosphere were just perfect! Thank you very much for making our short trip so memorable!

A warm welcome greeted us when we checked in and by coincidence we had the same room as our last stay there. Smartly decorated room with a comfy bed (not so sure about the pillows!) and a large modem bathroom with a large fashionable sink and big shower head in the ceiling over the bath. The two course fixed price menu was included in our deal. Limited but interesting menu but very tasty and hot food. Unusual serving of chicken broth - we were served a plate with a small bowl in the plate which had a julienne of vegetables and a small breaded chicken stick in it and the waiter poured our broth in the bowl at the table from a teapot. Breakfast was part self service and part waiter service. Good choice of unusual hot food as well as the traditional breakfast was available. A well stocked bar and plenty of different types of seats in Hotel bar/lounge area. The only thing that marred our stay was the inability to sit outside in the the sunshine at the front of the hotel on the hotel's own seating due to very drunk group of people sitting outside. Hotel very willing to store baggage upon arrival and departure as there is no car park at the hotel. Parking is easy and about a five minute walk arranged by the hotel.

Room Tip: The back of the hotel is likely to be quieter that the front especially the night before the setting...

We arrived early because we wanted to spend the whole day in Stratford. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful. They had said that we could leave our luggage with them if we arrived early, but they actually had our room ready.

The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on and the duvet was great.

The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The bar was delightful and the drinks were no more expensive than our local pub.

We loved the historical features and can't wait to go back.

I stayed with my family here a couple of weeks ago as we were booked in to see Wolf Hall at the theatre. We had 2 rooms on the second floor for 3 nights at the same rate (standard) though one of them (mine) was marginally bigger than the other - the bathroom especially. The hotel is well located for everything (as Stratford is quite small anyway) but as I was arriving by train it was a short walk from the station and another 10 minutes to the theatre. There was limited parking onsite and a larger car park a few minutes walk from the hotel which was fine.

My room was very comfortable with a huge bed and plenty of storage. It had all the usuals and a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits in the cupboard and fresh milk in the fridge. Although there was no view really as the 2 windows looked out onto the back wall of the cinema, this wasn’t really missed as the alternative would have a been the busy main road. I loved the touches of Shakespeare everywhere from cushions to quotes on the room doors - I realise this is everywhere in Stratford but it made the hotel feel less generic. My father went for a brandy in the bar one evening and had a full ‘Italian experience’ from the barman who lamented that Brandy should be drank with chocolate and then returned later with a free chocolate dessert for my parents to have with their nightcap! Really appreciated!

Breakfast was served in the bar/restaurant area which is really beautiful with lots of period features and low ceilings! There was a good buffet of continental foods and juices and a menu of various cooked options which were lovely. We did not eat in the hotel other than breakfast and so I cannot comment on the quality of lunch/dinner but the two places we went to I would recommend - the Greek restaurant next door offered huge portions and friendly staff, and No.9 Church Street was a great restaurant with a bargain pre-theatre menu.

The White Swan has the feeling of a pub with rooms - but in the very best way and I hope to stay here on all future visits to Stratford and try out one of the character rooms too...

Room Tip: Standard is still way above average - but go for character if you can
