We have stayed at various hotels in Stratford on Avon but this was our first stay at The White Swan. The decor and touches are all to the highest standard and our room was full of character. The food was excellent and the staff could not do enough - they made our visit a real pleasure. Am looking forward to visiting again

Stayed in May just one night for our honeymoon. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. They made our stay very special and the staff in the hotel could not do enough for us, even upgrading us to their amazing 'twelfth night' room as a special treat for our honeymoon. The rooms furnishings are of a high quality and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was big and had a really amazing shower.
The hotel is in walking distance to all of Stratford's sights. The town is beautiful and I would highly recommend a walk down the river! We also ate in the hotel and found the three course set menu options delicious and really good value. All in all this is a really special hotel and one of the best we have ever stayed in. A big thankyou to all the staff at the white swan who made our stay and honeymoon extra special.

Room Tip: Book the twelfth night room for an extra special experience!

A one night stay was all we needed so we opted for one of the character rooms with period furnishings and all the quirks that accompany them! Was a fantastic room with a four poster bed and a large soaking tub. We loved it !

Room Tip: If you don't mind spending a little extra go for the Macbeth room.

Stopped by for just one night. Very friendly and competent receptionist and we had a decent sized room at the back with a large shower room. Quality bar and dining area, although we didn't have dinner, with an original 16th century wall mural in situ- make sure you have a look at it. Breakfast was ok- small tip to avoid any embarrassment: the porridge choice (cost 13 pence) is classed the same as a full English (cost £3-4) so you can't have both.
At £89 it seemed like pretty decent value and I would certainly stay here again. The car park adjoining the hotel is patrolled by parking Nazis so make sure you pay for at least half an hour before going to check in or there is a good chance of getting an £80 ticket.

My fiance and i stayed here for 1 night for the races .We managed to get in to our room early as it had just been finished .
The lady on reception was very friendly and sorted us out with some parking around the corner £11 for 24 hrs which i thought was very reasonable and gave us a few extra hours the next day to see the town .
The hotel is lovely full of old beams and furnishings ,pictures and the like.
We had room 106 a classic double ,massive bed 6ft wide , well furnished and great bathroom with a double shower.superb.
We had booked the half board which entailed evening meal of a short menu , i opted for the pork shoulder main with pea and creme soup to start.
Soup was delicious but unfortunately the main which looked very good did not deliver on flavour and was disappointingly bland.
The drinks were expensive a vodka coke and a large wine £14.50.
Staff were all friendly with a mix of nationalities .
Breakfast in the morning was absolutely brilliant .full english looked superb and tasted lovely.
the hotel is ideally situated right in the middle of town a minutes walk from Shakespeare,s birthplace.
On a whole this hotel is worth its 4 stars but i would stay only bed n breakfast next time as there are loads of nice places to eat at reasonable prices in town.

We have just stayed for 1 night at this lovely pub/hotel. Everything was first class. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The rooms more than adequate. All in all very good value for money. The breakfast was excellent too with again first class service. I would definitely recommend this place. Wish we had eaten there at lunch time. Location is also very good as very much in the centre of all the attractions.

Room Tip: We had a Grand room. Very very good. View not so good but everything else perfect.
