Stayed here for 3 nights, which was a good choice for location, as only short walk into town and river.
Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, although bathroom door (folding) wouldn't close completely, as a tight fit. The wall plug socket by bed was a little loose, needing to be fixed more securely. Housekeeper checked room every day, replenishing tea/coffee/ milk supplies.
Breakfast was an adequate english breakfast, served piping hot. Choice of cereals to start with and toast etc. to follow.
The owner, Pascal, made you feel welcome and introduced guests to each other at breakfast time.

Well located B&B: can walk every where. Family room (#2) a bit small for 3 beds: but #3 is big enough. Small bathroom but clean. Hardware in bathroom working but starting to be loose. Room very clean. Beds are comfortable (Not too hard). Very good breakfast with orange juice; but not fresh fruits or yogurt. The owner Pascal is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for Cheltenham 2018 - had a double room which was a good size and the location of the guest house is great. Owner/staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, would definitely stay again.

Cheaper to book directly on their website rather than other hotel sites

Four of us stayed in a family room, which was comfortable and had everything we needed. Pascal the helpful proprietor provided a lot of relevant and useful information, which helped us make the most of our stay. The location is superb, in very easy walking distance of the theatre, town centre and railway station. It's also superb value. It's a joy to stay in a place like this after bland, characterless and overpriced business hotels.

A warm friendly welcome awaits you at the Salamander guest house. We had a family suite with an adjoining room for our two boys. Modestly appointed but perfect for our brief stay in this historic town. Just a few minutes walk from a wealth of tourist attractions our host, Pascal was more than happy to point us in the right direction for where to eat, what to see etc. We would definitely return.
