“Great hospitality and great value”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

We stayed here for two nights in late November during our driving trip around the UK. Ray was very welcoming and gave us plenty of fantastic information about the area. The accommodation was very comfortable and breakfast was great. The location is great for walking around the town and while parking isn't directly on-site, it's essentially over the road and covered in the cost of the room. We really enjoyed our stay here.

It's run by a husband and wife with their daughter (and dog, a beautiful golden Lab called Summer who is kept in the back, but can be brought out to say hi to dog lovers). It's got a great home feel. In addition, the food and accommodation are excellent - as is the price. It was the cheapest rate in town (45 GBP/night), but breakfast is custom-made at the time you request (within a 1-hour period). There are full English breakfast and lighter options. My bacon, eggs, beans, toast, and grapefruit were tasty and plentiful. The room (Norfolk, twin) was cozy, clean, and well-appointed, with luxurious linens, duvet and towels. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets are provided in the room, as well as excellent butter and sugar shortbread biscuits made by the proprietress. The family also provided personal recommendations of places to eat and things to see, and were very attentive and hospitable. The only drawbacks were that take-away foods cannot be eaten on the property (if you're a late-night chip shop addict), and there is a charge to pay by card, so cash is preferred. However, neither of these is particularly significant - it's just good to know. The guest house is also quite near the railway station, and also on the edge of the main street of town, so it's within easy walking distance to the main Stratford attractions. I HIGHLY recommend this B&B, and will make it my first choice for future visits to Stratford.

Hi Cole,
Thank you very much for the lovely and comprehensive review. We really appreciate it and note your comments. i would like to explain, for the benefit of future guests, why we do not permit take away food in the rooms. We have to think of other guests in the building as take away food is often greasy and smelly. The smell can linger even for days after guests have checked out. Nobody wants to check into a room that reeks of yesterday's chips, curry or burgers! We also do our own laundry and have had expensive bedlinen ruined with grease and curry in the past, for which guests have been charged. Many take aways in Stratford provide tables & chairs for people to sit at, and I doubt if any other 4 star B&B would permit it on their premises either. It was a pleasure to meet you and we would welcome you again at any time.
Best wishes,
Ray, Melanie, Hayley & Summer

After reading all the previous excellent reviews we (my sister, mum and myself) were anticipating a good visit and stay! We did not have a good stay.......we had a fantastic stay!!!!! Everything everyone has wrote about this B&B is true in bucket loads! The family are so hard working and evidently passionate about their business.

We arrived about 4ish after having a brill visit to Warwick Castle. We were told where to park, provided with a free parking pass then checked in quickly, were settled into our beautiful room and then serviced tea in the breakfast room. We had the Warwick room which had a double and 2 single beds, beautiful old beams on the ceiling, loads of room, lovely bathroom and great little touches like shower gel / body lotion / home made biscuits / hot water bottles, etc.

The breakfast was lovely too and unlike big hotel chains who have little consideration for food allergies, our diet was accommodated for with wheat free / gluten free products and rice milk instead of dairy. Cooked to perfection and so tasty!

Location wise..... FABULOUS! 5 minute walk and all the sights, shops, bars and restaurants were there for us. Ray provided us a map and pointed out where we could find the towns oldest pubs which we of course visited!!!

To finish...thank you for making us feel so welcome and contributing to such a lovely visit to Stratford. We can not recommend this B&B enough!

Room Tip: Warwick room is beautiful!

The warmest welcome, a lovely comfortable room and fabulous breakfast; what more could you ask for? We stayed one night in a cosy twin room, had free parking for the duration of our stay and were within strolling distance of the theatre. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night here on a theatre trip to Stratford. A warm welcome with tea or coffee offered. Lovely family room with everything we needed and access to two bathrooms, one ensuite and a private one outside the door. The whole house was beautifully decorated, in keeping with the age and nature of the building, a former nurses` home. Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Parking is across the road in a hospital car park for which you get a free voucher from the guest house. The town centre, shops and theatre are a short walk away. no need to drive there. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. We were asked to order the night before so that everything was ready and quickly served once we came down. All in all a great stay and would go back.

We loved our stay very much. We were warmly welcomed by the Landlord, with fresh made biscuits in the room. He gave us a lot of information. It was very clean, the room was perfect and quiet, just what you're looking for in your holiday. Also on walking distance from the centre, so percect.
We had a very nice breakfast in the cosy breakfast lounge. Helpful landlord and landlady, we would really recommend it.
