I selected Broadlands based upon other tripadvisor.com reviews and Broadlands' proximity to the Shakespeare Institute. I was happy I did, staying 5 nights while participating in a conference. The beds were comfortable, and I slept well. (I say this as someone who sometimes has a difficult time sleeping away from home.) Both the continental and full breakfasts were deliicious -- the latter was hearty enough to keep me going all day. The whole place was immaculate. The rooms were tastefully decorated and aesthetically pleasing. Best of all, Tamara was personable, helpful, and did everything she could to make me feel at home. 2 provisos -- (1) If you do not like auto traffic / road noise, request 1 of 2 rooms facing the back, which are absolutely quiet. Tamara was kind enough to move me halfway through my stay, as soon as a room became available. (2) The wi-fi did not work. Tamara offered a cable, but my laptop was not configured for a wired connection.
