The walk along the canal with the church opposite was incredible. We had an amazing day and the weather was beautiful. There were so many birds! Herons, swan, geese...

This is a nice quiet get away from the crowds walk, very peaceful. There are barges moored along the way and often people fishing, especially in the evening. We did this walk several times at different times of the day and never felt un-safe.

A lovely place to walk and sit to watch the world go by. Plenty of places to get an ice cream and/or a drink. On Sunday there was a band playing plus a couple of excellent buskers. A perfect few hours in a beautiful space in the sunshine.

The Stratford Canal reaches from Birmingham to Stratford, with the section from Kingswood Junction to Stratford a narrow section. The canal was completed in 1816; the southern section became un-navigable by 1945. Due to the enthusiasm of volunteers, the canal was re-opened in 1964 by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The re-build even had canal pieces, such as lock gates, from other disused canals enabling the full restoration of the canal.
