My seven year old daughter is learning about tudors and so we thought we’d come into Stratford-Upon Avon and pop in. From previous reviews we realised it wasn’t a big place and so I roughly knew it would be an hour or less.

Interesting and a bit spooky, the building has a higgledy piggledy feel to it and it has a mixture of Tudor facts and history. Some parts my daughter was a little scared however it’s not really that scary. I liked that the museum is what it is, it’s genuine, staff down to earth and you can sit on chairs etc not like many other museums. Would recommend coming here but wouldn’t travel especially but Stratford-Upon-Avon has lots of shops, the river etc to walk around anyway so could combine it with a visit.

School parties filled the place making audible descriptions difficult to follow however the subject matter was interesting enough for two teenage boys

Tudor World may not look much on the outside, however this place is brilliant. Compared to over over-priced attractions in Stratford (Well, in my opinion). Tudor World offers very reasonably priced entertainment. The museum isn't massive but good things come in small packages, the models don't look outdated and the smell, sight and feel of the displays really make it feel as though you are in Tudor times. Gift shop is a little bland but we expected that and the sarcastic humour on the sign outside really made my day. If it's raining or you just fancy somewhere a little different then I would recommend visiting here.

We have two boys aged 14 and 10 who hate museums. We were recommended Tudor World by the tourist office as a place the boys might like as it’s a hands on, fun and gory! They weren’t wrong! The boys loved it! Try on hats, sit in the throne, practise writing with a quill, lots of horrible smells, gory video about the plague, what’s not to love! It is one of the only places where me and my husband read every single information board as they were really informative, but also easy for the kids to read to. If you come to Stratford and can’t/don’t want to do all the Shakespeare museums, come here!

Dear 4mma, thank you for your lovely review. When you put so much into your museum, it is so rewarding to receive such fantastic praise.
