Owner description: The RSC's recently transformed theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon re-opened in November 2010. The new building include two theatres, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre, both using a thrust stage. Tickets for RSC performances are available to purchase in advance on the RSC website. Visitors can also experience Theatre Tours, take a trip up the Tower for fantastic views of Stratford-upon-Avon and enjoy free exhibitions. You can also book a table for lunch or dinner in the Rooftop Restaurant and Bar or enjoy a light bite in the Riverside Cafe. There is free public Wi Fi throughout the building.

I am fortunate to walk past this theatre most days and have visited many occasions from a theatre goer to popping in for coffee. As has been said there is something for everyone, lovely views from the tower, a interesting shop, exhibits from productions, and occasional varied exhibitions not to mention world famous productions ! . I have noticed it is child friendly, and staff seem keen to help you enjoy your visit. They have occasional workshops for children probably worth checking before you visit so see if you can take advantage of them. More than anything a perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by either outside on terrace or upstairs in restaurant/ bar inside or outside. It's situation next to river is hard to beat !

We'll worth a visit, either to see a play or just to view Stratford from the tower, maybe take lunch in the restaurant overlooking the River Avon, there is something for everyone.

Not sure what to write here: am I supposed to put a critque of the play?? A & C is shakespeare!! So play was beautifully well written, set was perfect, acting left a lot to be desired as Cleo was mostly unintelligible and setting it in Haiti was a poor choice. Theatre itself has been revamped - on ines f original Globe: again, great to look at but not as comfy as it used to be - why can't they mix old style with new comfort so that everyone can see without being a giraffe or ostrich??? Will always go again of course!!! Ice cream was yummy. Staff lovely.

The RST was rebuilt and reopened in 2010. This is a personal opinion obviously but I would have knocked it down completely and built something truly iconic. The best bits are the new bits such as the Tower (a great view over Stratford) & the rooftop restaurant. Depending on where you sit in the new theatre you can have a fantastic view and be very close to the actors or have a restricted view because of the pillars, so be warned. The view over the Avon from the Theatre on a summer's evening is fantastic. You cannot see better acting anywhere and the new thrust stage is supported by great scenery. It's worth spending time there even when there's not a performance on.
