Having booked online and grabbed a bargain for a one night room we arrived with even minded expectations of a mid range chain hotel just out of town.
Thanks to other helpful reviewers we knew the £3 parking would accommodate the car for the rest of the day and set off into S-u-A for a lovely wander, light shop and tasty lunch.
Returning later in the evening checkin was very straight forward. The room was spacious and light. Windows all bolted shut (do uk hotel owners expect travellers to jump?? Or just hang out of windows and smoke??) odd really as nowhere in Europe seems to fear from open windows. Anyway air con on as the room was quite cold.
Following the instructions to choose a pillow it has to be said it was hard to tell firm from soft!!
Into the bar for drinks and a snack where the staff were run off their feet. The bar covered in dirty glasses empty bottles and screwed up napkins. If did at least prevent us from leaning on the bar and sticking ourselves to it. If the phrase the manager here should be sacked was used once it was repeated regularly by other guests within minutes of attempting to get served at the bar or a table in the tiny restaurant.
One bonus the hotel did a no breakfast option saving us £17 and allowing us to up and out in the morning. Check out equally swift as check in and we waved over one shoulder as we headed towards a beautiful local village for tasty brekkie at half that price minus the sticky tables !!
