We've just spent a week in 'The Bards's' birthplace and it was great for the way it's looked after by the local authority's (a bit like they look after York). Stacks of great pubs and restaurants and a 10 minute walk back to the hotel which is on the banks of the canal,if banks is the right word, but just 2 metres off the canal. Got some nice pictures of the boats at sunset from the hotel window.
It was a bit busy (centenary year and all that!!) but could easily have spent another week there.
Worth a visit and lovely countryside too.
