Owner description: Discover where William Shakespeare was educated and inspired to become the world's greatest playwright. Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall gives visitors the chance to discover how and where the world's greatest playwright, William Shakespeare, spent his school years and first experienced theatre. This period in Shakespeare's life, about which there has been little previous insight, undoubtedly awakened in him a passion for the craft of which he was to become a master. Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall provides a truly immersive experience for all - whether a lifelong Shakespeare enthusiast or new to his enduring legacy. Fun for all the family.

I had no idea this school was even there. I happened upon it while stepping out of a pub. I was taken on a tour by one of the students which was a lot of fun. I not only saw the schoolroom where Shakespeare would have been a student but there is a plaque on the wall in the spot where it is believed he sat as a student. The etchings on the ceilings from three students who survived the plague was quite touching. Well worth the tour I thought.

We were so fortunate to be in Stratford on one of the few days each year when Shakespeare's School (now King Edward VI Grammar School) was open to the public. The Town's original Guild Hall forms part of the School's library and upstairs in Shakespeare's original classroom lessons are still occasionally to the current pupils who give the guided tours to incredulous members of the public for the princely sum of £2 per adult and £1 per child. Still can't believe our good fortune to be able to experience this fantastic piece of living history. Not widely publicised, but if it is open DO NOT MISS IT!!!

Shakespeare's School, King Edward VI Grammar School has a lovely building and when you walk past the gates under Shakespeare's old classroom you think that the children who are currently being educated there are so privilaged being able to go to Shakespeare's School and the students even get to be taught in Shakespeare's old classroom,
Overall brilliant building. Lovely architecture!
