“Disorganized and aloof.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2011

We booked and payed for a room on their website only to be told a few days later, just before our stay, that the hotel was in fact fully booked. We we given an embarrassingly short and poorly written apology and expected to book another hotel at short notice.

Overall, a highly disorganized and unsatisfactory affair.

May be a bit pricey but worth it for the beautiful setting. Lovely village, friendly locals.
Room was clean and comfortable, bit cold but we are softy southerners!
Food was delicious, prices about average. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Chose the quietest room, 'Black Velvet'.

Had meal at the College Arms on Friday with my husband and friends,
Very nice warm cosy restaurant, staff could not be more helpful and nice, food was absolutely lovely.
If in the area again we would definately go back.

Paid £5.00 extra for the novalty of having the oldest room! The room itself was o.k, although the heating did not come on in the morning, very cold. The bathroom is in need of a serious update, cold, damp, old electric heater, scruffy, toilet brush hadn't been cleaned. The weather happened to be extremely cold so it was a very unpleasent experience. Portable raditor broken, would have been nice to throw in some complimentary biscuits. We have paid much less money for a much better room.

Couldn't fault the food, service and the staff, shame the room was such a dissaappoinment. Would not recommend anyone to go there until the bathroom has been updated.

Never write reviews normally but we have had such a great time at the College Arms, the room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable with stunning views, we ate there both nights of our stay and the food was excellent, the restaurant is very warm and welcoming, we really got great value for our money, have booked to stay over xmas and cant wait, thank you to Jo and all the team see you soon.

arrived at a busy time ,so i was told , given key and general direction of room,
room small, but charing monochrome fake fur rug on bed,en suite roman blind either rests on pelmet or fully closed, with view in from carpark to sink area,it was left closed for my partner when washing, sink area moldy skirting un painted and only basic sachets of cheap shampoo and a small bar of soap, 4 white towels o.k.
food was awfull my one skewer of five small pieces of chicken and a couple of lettuce leafs in a disgusting sauce sprinkled with a few salted peanuts was a joke for £6-75.
the bacon for breakfast was good though, but on the second day, we had pre payed.
no cereal, and one food was delivered my partner was left to her own devises, i did not eat there again. these are new owners , with a new cook?
