Came into the room to be greeted by a man, I presume who was the owner, who immediately asked us if we were going to be eating. We said yes, but thought it was a strange question to ask in a Tea Room. We ordered a Bacon & Brie Panini and a Large Scone with Jam and Cream and a Pot of Tea for 2. Our order was taken by a nice young girl. Whilst waiting we saw the owner ask other customers who came in if they were eating. One of them said no and that they just wanted a Pot of Tea, only for the owner to turn them away stating that it was lunchtime and that he couldn't serve them if they weren't eating.
When our food turned up we received a small Panini garnished with shredded lettuce. Totally unappetising. The Scone was small with a small pot of cream and jam. Not the advertised large scone. The atmosphere is totally uninspiring for a Tea Room and we left totally bemused by the whole experience.
