Having never visited Stratford-upon-Avon, we decided to take the opportunity to break our journey from Cumbria back home to Dorset there and to see Shakespeare's birthplace. I picked this guest house through Booking.com as having parking, being within easy walking distance of Stratford's main attractions and being reasonably priced.
We were not disappointed! Bill, the owner, was pleasant and knowledgeable (as one might expect) about the area. Our room, whilst long and rather narrow, was very well presented and appointed and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. In fact, the whole guest house is really bright, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast in the morning was also very good, nicely cooked and just the right sized portions.
The centre of town is only about 10 minutes walk and, if you are visiting the attractions, be sure to pick up discount vouchers from Bill's display before you go. Those we got made visits to the Shakespeare properties really very inexpensive.
We will certainly stay here again if the opportunity arises for us to return to Stratford.
