Lambs, in the restaurant area of Sheep Street, is a real gem. The building itself is, of course, very old which adds to the joy of the excellent food. Good choice for a pre-theatre meal as they are well used to getting you out in time for the stroll to the theatres.

We ate at Lamb's before attending an RSC production. We were joined at 5.30 by a number of others of to see a play and, despite the crush, everyone was served with promptness and consideration for the meal to be completed within an hour.
The food was appetising and consisted of largely locally-sought produce. Prices were reasonable including the house white and red. We will return.

Had a nice dinner with friends on Saturday night - lots to choose from the menu - food was very good and nicely presented. If we had one criticism - portions of cheese on the cheese board rather miserly. Waiting staff attentive without being obtrusive.

Went to this nice-looking restaurant for the first time on a Sunday lunchtime, staff were very welcoming. The food was pretty average though, which was a pity given the good first impression.

There was only one vegetarian option on the menu, which is a bit disappointing these days as you would expect at least two, but the menu was pretty short so not a huge deal, but it was also stuffed peppers - which is a pretty dull default option popular in the 1990s, giving the impression the chef couldn't be bothered to think up anything more exciting. When my main arrived it was also very small, more of a starter, and I had to order extra bread or would have left hungry. My other half had a meat dish, but reported that the vegetables were overlooked and reminiscent of school dinners. The dessert was nice, but didn't really make up for the mains.

The menu here is pretty much the same as Vintner and The Opposition. If you eat in one you have pretty much eaten in the other two. Its an opportunity missed
