“Lovely historic cottage”
Reviewed 5 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

First, let me clarify; in order to love this cottage as much as I did you have to prefer charm to luxury. It is OLD (that is the whole point right) so there is probably not one straight angle in the whole cottage. Don’t get me wrong, the cottage is very clean and the washing machine and the oven and all the rest of the equipment is tip top modern and there is of course wifi, but there are also a lot of little oddities that you find in old houses. Personally I love such oddities like ancient oak floors, more or less unmatching but cosy antique furniture, thick walls in impossible angles, light switches in odd places, toilets in cupboards, and mysterious cracks that could house a hidden treasure or an ancient document or possibly a spider. So Rose cottage is definitely my Stratford Dream Cottage come true. All practicalities like contact with owner, handing over keys, and parking worked great.

We were really thrilled to see this review; not just because the guests were happy - of course we always hope for that - but because they truly appreciated the unique charm that is Rose Cottage. Occasionally, despite our detailed website description, guests are a bit disappointed because they were expecting something like a modern five-star city apartment. Rose Cottage is not that. It is a 400 year-old cottage absolutely full of ancient charm and idiosyncrasies but with modern conveniences and we hope everyone will appreciate it in the way these guests obviously did. So thank you very much.

“Hamlet Heaven”

This is a beautiful period cottage set in a small hamlet with allocated parking. The cottage is well equipped for modern living whilst keeping the authenticity of the period. A taxi to town is only £5.50 which allows you to have a meal and glass of wine in one of the many restaurants.
Rose Cottage is a perfect getaway from all the hustle and bustle, a heavenly hideaway.

We loved the magical little garden. The cottage is perfect for older people. Probably not suitable for disabled or the very young.

“Perfect, cozy winter retreat”

This cottage is absolutely perfect, it is full of charm and character, and provided the most relaxing and cozy winter retreat. The owners have ensured the cottage has all the equipment and home comforts you would need, it lacked nothing. The location of the Hamlet is beautiful, and I would thoroughly recommend to all. The only downside was that we had to go home!! Just wished we could have stayed longer!
