this hotel is in a prime location, by a canal, and with pleasant walks around it. The food is homely and tasty. It is not expensive, the rooms are rather small. Some of the staff are inexperienced, but very helpful.

We were visiting Warwick for a concert in the castle grounds. Had we known how much we would enjoy our stay we would have booked for longer. The Inn is well situated to get to from the train station and only a short walk from the town centre and the castle. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were more than happy with our room. The breakfast was excellent. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Carpets worn, banisters shaky, steep stairs, rotten windows that dont open, very low lights so you can't see the dirt, noisy traffic.Cost us £74 for nothing as we walked out without staying.Nobody there except one lady at the bar who was pleasant enough. She did'nt seem surprised that we walked out. Doubt if she would stay there herself!

Stayed at this family run hotel late May, 2014. The atmosphere is warm and cosy. Lovely big room, clean and good value for money. Lovely generous breakfast meals. Great team who were happy to assist in directions, places to see and local information. Our only ask, please invest in a decent mattress. Its the little things that matter. Would definitely recommend if staying to visit the Castle.

Room Tip: Ask for front room better Wifi

Rooms
-Booked a regular room, was given a big double 4-poster (Thumbs up!). The Bathroom was a strange size (massive), and the hot water took a while to come through, but it was all part of the "Middle-of-England Inn" experience. Wasn't a negative by any means.
Staff
-I dropped my car keys during my stay. The staff were really helpful, and helped stop me worrying in the evening. The morning staff over breakfast were really friendly.
Food
Only ate breakfast, but that was fantastic. Have stayed in many hotels in Warwick (including the other side of the road), and the breakie' is a winner.

Summary
A popular little hotel, the Car Parking can become a little tight (I arrived late, and had a 12-point turn to take the last space). I plan to use the King's Head again for my next visit to Warwick!

Room Tip: Be flexible - this is a quirky little hotel, full of character.

I stayed here with two friends and it was a lovely apartment, well decorated and with everything we needed. Needed a bit of TLC in terms of the bath screen (dirty/mouldy!) but generally ok. It did feel like we were staying in someone's flat as opposed to a hotel though, with a bit of a smelly communal entrance. Would advise ringing to inform the owner in terms of the number of cars as we had no idea parking was limited..once we'd got over that hurdle the staff were lovely and the location great.

This was not our first choice for staying in Warwick, but we wished it had been (as the first hotel was a disaster and we checked out soon after booking in!!!). The welcome was very warm and friendly and the Italian owner was very friendly, he is also the resident chef, his food is lovely, and his pasta was just great. His breakfasts are good too !

The room we stayed in was a twin room and it suited all our needs. The beds were comfy and the shower was just perfect. Considering this Inn is over 400 hundred years old it ran like clockwork, with the few odd quirks - Steep curving stairs, but that all adds to the character.

Next time we visit Warwick this will be a first hotel we check for availability.
