Great insight into the history of warfare and its costs, could do with more wider historical angle though

If you like old buildings you will love this place. Make sure you look up at all the joints in the beams, THEN DUCK!

Have visited many times and never tire of it.our daughter was married here.it is effortlessly, timelessly beautiful.to visit in early summer, stand at the entrance to the masters garden and breathe in the scent of the golden Philadelphus that spills over the wall is worth a visit in itself.look up at the carved bears bearing arms in the courtyard.don't they look a little as though they are exercising? A blue porcupine is the emblem.it always makes me smile.eagles, deer, foxes, badgers are often used in heraldry, but a bright blue porcupine! How fabulous.i did ask one of the very helpful brethren about it and it seems it may have originated in the crusades, but i still like to think of our ancestors bravely going forth to battle enormous flocks of marauding, garden wrecking blue porcupines......This is a beautiful, historic, untouched place.it is also peoples homes.we should feel privileged to be allowed inside, not just left to look longingly from the path.those who expect facilities of the theme park variety, stay away.oh,the master is a real gentleman.he loves his garden!

I attended a wedding at this old hospital. It is a Elizabethan wooden framed building so if you are into old building (no current evidence of it being a hospital WW1) but then not my sort of thing. Empty ancient rooms do nothing for me.
