The area has abundant Indian/Balti restaurants from the 'very cheap and not so cheerful' to top-class food and service. Panache Balti is a small restaurant (est 30ish covers) and is definitely positioned in the latter category with an inventive menu including the old favourites and some very interesting 'local' tastes. All the food is freshly cooked and has its own taste and individuality, but, despite this, although only sampled at quiet times, the service is fast and efficient.
The only down-side is that if you sit near the door it can be rather cold - hopefully Spring and Summer will overcome this.
Definitely worth a visit if you want to a change from the production line approach at Castle Balti a few doors down.
