We had Sunday lunch here for my daughters birthday. The choice of freshly cooked food is great it includes the traditional pork, beef roast dinners etc but also has additional specials when we were there this included swordfish which was fab.
The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient making sure that all 23 candles fitted onto the birthday cake :-).
We sat in the conservatory which is really pleasant and after lunch walked along the canal path which is just at the side of the pub. Would definitely recommend to anyone, we are going back again this Sunday!

Thoroughly enjoyed a Sunday lunch with the family. The location by the canal is lovely, its just down a quite country lane. We were very warmly greeted by the hostess, it was like we were longstanding regulars but it was our 1st visit.
The food was excellent! You can tell it's homemade as it has that extra quality to it that you don't get at chain pubs. They are rightly very proud of the traceability of their food, it's reassuring to know that they care about the whole process not just the end product. Simply outstanding.

Stopped off halfway through a walk with friends, then returned later in the day for a meal. Great location, great food, friendly and helpful staff and an overall lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

After a tiring first day on the canal barge we needed a good evening meal for seven and somewhere we could take the dog. Our basic requirements were more than met, with beautiful meals for all seven of us (aged from 6 years to over 70 including one gluten free meal). If you are looking for a 'fast food outlet' then this is not for you. These people CARE and everything is freshly cooked for you, but the extra few minutes wait is worth every second.
The service was attentive without being intrusive with genuine smiles without a hint of the pasted-on "Have a nice day" style. We really felt welcome.. . . including the dog.
The food was superb, the surroundings beautiful, yet it was relaxed and comfortable - an enviable mixture when we have to consider 4 adults, 3 children and a dog.
A perfect start to our holiday. Thank you.
p.s. Our dog remembers you (and your titbits) with particular fondness.

Have eaten pizza here frequently and it is great.
As a local you can't beat it for value, pizza is always good and staff are friendly.
Regularly eat here as it beats 'chain' pizza places.
