Much better than motorway services. Nice canal side setting. Service a bit slow but the hot baguettes with very generous filling were well worth waiting for.

Comfortable location by the canal with an original menu reasonably priced. I only needed a snack lunch and can heartily recommend the Scotch eggs with black pudding - absolutely delicious! Friendly & helpful staff. Would definitely use again when next in the area.

A few years ago ..not many..this was a lovely friendly cosy pub..now it has seemingly overpriced food & beer and feels like the landlords private club and has the sport on TV every time I go in there..which I admit has not been that often.

What an interesting review! The landlord lives in New Zealand the majority of the year so we're not sure who you thought was using it as their private club but it wasn't the landlord?

If you were not comfortable with the sport on the TV we have 3 distinctly different areas. The bar which has a flat screen TV and yes if the Football is on it will be shown, Wimbledon, rugby etc & the volume is only turned up for special games. At present we do not even have SKY TV. For those who do not want to watch or listen to this we have a comfortable lounge area without these distractions. We also have the canalside which of course does not have TVs. We feel this diversity gives our customer enough options.

You say it is not like it was a few years ago! That makes us happy as our previous tenants lost the majority of our local customers & went bankrupt! Our seemingly overpriced food & beer is cheaper than most pubs in Warwick. We have an excellent standard of service and offer many added value items including free wifi, water etc.

we have been here before for a drink but what a surprise the food was , restaurant quality food in a proper pub. I had a steak with the usual trimmings , one of the best I have had , my partner had gammon which was equally good , well cooked and nicely presented. lots of choice on the menu. staff were very welcoming and helpful , we will be back.

Just got back from a delicious lunch - two mains with two white wine spritzers for about £22. Good portion size and the mackerel dish was superb. The Cape isn't pretending to be a trendy gastro-place but rather a good old-fashioned pub serving excellent quality food in an atmospheric canal-side setting. It was a complete surprise to find such a gem tucked away on the outer edges of Warwick. Will definitely be back!
